Will submit resignation to RJD Chief after Feb 27, says Pappu Yadav

New Delhi, Feb 25 (ANI): RJD leader Pappu Yadav on Wednesday said that he will submit his resignation to RJD Chief Lalu Prasad Yadav after February 27 i.e. after the wedding of Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadavs kin Tej Pratap Singh Yadav to Lalu Yadavs daughter Raj Laxmi. Pappu Yadav said that he has always worked for the betterment of party and if still his loyalty is questioned then the party chief should accept his resignation.

Two militants killed in Kashmir encounter

Shopian, Feb 25 (ANI): Two unidentified militants were killed in an encounter with security forces in south Kashmir's Shopian district on Wednesday. The gun battle is still on between the security forces and militants in Shopian district. The security forces are in search of a third militant. The encounter began on Tuesday when security forces received specific intelligence input about the presence of militants in Hef Shermal area of Shopian, 52 kms from Srinagar. Acting on a tip-off about the presence of militants, a joint team of army and police began a search operation in the area. During the search operation, the militants started firing to which security personnel retaliated.

New Delhi, Feb 25 (ANI): After much chaos was created on Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhis absence from the Parliament as Budget Session began, his picture of being present in Uttarakhand was posted by one of the party workers. Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said that only Congress can clarify about Gandhis presence in Uttarakhand. Congress leader Rajeev Shukla said that media keeps posting visuals of Rahul Gandhi unnecessarily and stir controversy. Congress leader Jagdish Sharma said that the party workers cannot tolerate rumors about Rahul Gandhis absence from the Parliament. He added that Gandhi will soon become the partys President.

Yogi Adityanath says ghar wapsi to continue till conversions are banned, Politicos condemn

New Delhi, Feb 25 (ANI): Political leaders on Wednesday condemned BJP MP Yogi Adityanath after he said that Ghar Wapsi programme will continue till a law on religious conversion is put in place. Addressing a Hindu Sammelan in Rohtak organised by the VHP, Adityanath said vote-bank politics and not poverty is the main problem in the country. Ghar Wapsi shall continue till a law on religious conversion is brought in, he said. Political leaders from opposition parties condemned the statement and said that these statements are hampering the governments image and also dividing the society.

New Delhi, Feb 25 (ANI): Indian activists called for fair and time bound probe as Rajendra Pachauri quit as chair of the U.N. panel of climate scientists, ending 13 years in charge of the Nobel Peace Prize-winning group, after a sexual harassment complaint against him. Pachauri, 74, has denied the allegation. Meanwhile, social activists said that justice should be ensured to the complainant in a time bound manner. Police arrest six people with 60 kilograms of gold in Gujarat

Ahmedabad, Feb 25 (ANI): Police arrested six people with 60 kilograms of gold bullion in Ahmedabad on Tuesday. Joint commissioner of Gujarat, AK Sharma, said the accused came from Dubai by an Emirates flight. Acting on a tip-off, police laid the trap and apprehended them when they were about to leave the airport. Police have launched an investigation to nab their accomplices and masters.
