AAP candidate wins a seat in Delhi cantonment polls, supporters throw money in air

New Delhi, Jan 12 (ANI): AAP candidate Nand Kishor Beniwal won a seat in the Delhi Cantonment elections as counting of votes in underway. Supporters were seen throwing currency notes in the air as celebrations for the candidate’s victory were going on. Meanwhile, Beniwal said that he was happy at his victory and the party is expecting more seats for itself. Over million join Unity March against 'Paris Attack'

England/ Belgium, Jan 12 (ANI): The covers of British newspapers on Monday were dominated by the unprecedented march that took place in Paris. On Sunday, world leaders including Muslim and Jewish statesmen linked arms to lead more than a million French citizens through the French capital to pay tribute to victims of Islamist militant attacks. President Francois Hollande and leaders from Germany, Italy, Israel, Turkey, Britain and the Palestinian territories among others, moved off from the central Place de la Republique ahead of a sea of French and other flags. At least 3.7 million people took part in silent marches throughout France, the biggest public demonstration ever registered in the country. A total of 1.2 million to 1.6 million marched in Paris and a further 2.5 million in other cities, the Interior Ministry said. Meanwhile, some 20 thousand Belgians also took part in march "against hatred" in central Brussels on Sunday in solidarity with victims of Paris attacks. Jan 12, 2015

Greenpeace activist Priya Pillai offloaded from Delhi-London flight, says it's a 'bullying tactic' b

New Delhi, Jan 12 (ANI): Greenpeace India Senior Campaigner Priya Pillai was allegedly stopped at IGI Airport from boarding a flight to London. Pillai while speaking on the issue said that she was stopped at the immigration counter despite having a valid visa and her passport was stamped with "offloaded." She added that she was on her way to meet a group on tribal affairs and another on Indo-British relations and wasn supposed to talk on the Mahan coal block issue and its impact on tribals. She further stated that the whole process is a 'bullying tactic' by the government. Greenpeace India has written to MEA and Airport Authority of India about barring Pillai and has asked the government to explain the legal basis for the ban on her leaving the country. Jan 12, 2015
