Youth slaps Haryana CM Bhupinder Singh Hooda

Panipat, Feb 02 (ANI): A youth slapped Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, who was riding an open jeep during a Congress road show, in full public view in Panipat on Sunday evening and was taken into custody immediately. The chief minister had gone to Panipat, to inaugurate and lay foundation stone of various projects. Academy award-winning star Maximilian Schell dies at 83

New Delhi, Feb 2 (ANI): Maximilian Schell, who had won an Oscar for his role in ' Judgment at Nuremberg' in 1961, has passed away "following a sudden and serious illness". He was 83. The Austrian-born actor's agent said that he died overnight at a hospital in Innsbruck. Schell, who was a fugitive from Adolf Hitler, had received two Academy Award nominations for 'The Man in the Glass Booth' and 'Julia'. He had also won a Golden Globe for 'The Pedestrian'. Jairam Ramesh bats for uniform minimum wages across country

New Delhi, Feb 2 (ANI): Rural Development Minister, Jairam Ramesh, on Sunday backed the proposal to equate the wages for works under the central government-run employment scheme with the minimum wages prevailing in states. The minister said minimum wages in 14 states was more than remuneration paid for the work under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MNREGA). He said that state governments and the central governments should jointly determine it. MGNREGA is the biggest programme that guarantees 100 days of minimum work for poor people in rural areas.
