Jagdalpur, Nov 07 (ANI): While addressing a rally in Jagdalpur region of Chhattisgarh, Bharatiya Janata Party's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi hit out at Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, saying he was being arrogant by refusing to order a probe to find out if negligence had led to blasts in his party's rally in Patna. He also referred to the Maoist attack in which several top Congress leaders of the state were killed and said that Chief Minister Raman Singh, who was on a yatra, had cancelled his journey and ordered not only a judicial probe but also visited the families of the deceased. Clash of ideologies between feuding parties plunges Bangladesh into cycle of violence

Dhaka, Nov 7 (ANI): Additional Attorney General of Bangladesh, M K Rahman, said that the clash of ideologies has plunged Bangladesh into a cycle of violence as the two main political parties - ruling Awami League led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Bangladesh National Party (BNP) headed by Begum Khaleda Zia are exploiting the tension between secularists and Islamists ahead of elections. Rahman while talking to the reporter in Dhaka on Thursday ruled out that the mounting tension was because of political enmity between the leading political parties. Commenting over the demand for a caretaker government, Rahman said that a constitutional amendment for such a demand was not possible. President calls for improving quality of technical education

New Delhi Nov 7 (ANI): President Pranab Mukherjee, met the directors of the National Institutes of Technology (NITs) in New Delhi on Thursday and also discussed various steps to improve the quality of technical education and faculty development in NITs to bring them at par with the top technical institutions of the world. Mukherjee is hosting a two- day Conference of Directors of National Institutes of Technology (NITs). Around 30 directors are participating in the conference which is being organised for the first time to upgrade the level of technical education in India. The delegates would also discuss steps for inter-linkages of NITs with the industry so that the best of the students’ capabilities can be harnessed and used by professionals as soon as they join the industry. Prince Charles, Camilla meet cadets at IMA in Dehradun

Dehradun, Nov 7 (ANI): British royals, the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall, met cadets at the Indian Military Academy (IMA) on Thursday in Dehradun as part of their nine-day India trip. The royal couple were received by a top Indian Army official at the IMA building also known as Chetwode Building. The official gave the British royals a tour of the historic academy based in the foothills of the Himalayas. Prince Charles and Camilla will spend eight days in India before travelling to Sri Lanka to attend the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in Colombo. This is their third official visit to India. The trip is aimed at strengthening bilateral ties between London and New Delhi. Joint military drill by India, China to combat terrorism

Beijing, Nov 7 (ANI): Indian and Chinese soldiers began an anti-terrorism exercise "Hand-in-Hand" in Chinese province with their eyes firmly on enhancing mutual trust and boosting cooperation between two of the largest and well-equipped armed forces in the world. The Indian contingent was led by Brigadier D.S. Shishodia along with the commanding officer Colonel Gaurav Srivastava. Shishodia said on Wednesday that the troops were mixed and organised in two companies in order to learn from each other. Exercise Hand-in-Hand formally begun at Miao Ergang which comes under Chengdu Military area.
