Rayagada, May 30 (ANI): People living in Maoist-affected Rayagada district of Odisha banked on newly formed central government for safety and security. Residents of Maoist-affected villages said they were expecting Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led union government to take concrete steps against Maoists in the region. People complained that the district was neglected during Congress party's regime and hoped for better future. Even though the Congress party introduced many developmental schemes related to agriculture, irrigation, communication, food security and consumer welfare sanctions, people were unhappy with improper implementation. Fire engulfs slum area in Bhopal

Bhopal, May 30 (ANI): Raging inferno broke out in a slum cluster in Bhopal city of Madhya Pradesh on Friday gutting several hutments, police officials said. The blaze was reported at the slum in Bhopal around late night and around 8 fire tenders were pressed into service. The fire has now been brought under control and there are no reports of casualties. Modi’s reaction followed reports of Rajasthan government considering incorporating Modi's life story as part of educational curriculum. Modi tweeted, “I firmly believe that the life story of living individuals should not be included as a part of the school curriculum. India has a rich history of several stalwarts who made India what it is today. Young minds should read about these greats & emulate them.” Earlier, Rajasthan Education Minister Kali Charan Saraf had said that he would consider incorporating Modi's biography in school text books, if the latter became the Prime Minister after the general elections. Doda, May 30 (ANI): Police busted a militant hideout and recovered a huge cache of explosives, arms and ammunition from a forest area in Jammu and Kashmir, said a senior officer. Superintendent of Police, Mohammad Sharif Chouhan, said it was one of the biggest recoveries in the recent past in Doda district of the state. Acting on a tip-off, police launched combing in the forest area and busted the militant hideout in a natural cave. Blast in Imphal claims two lives

Imphal, May 30 (ANI): At least two persons were killed and six others injured when a bomb exploded in Manipur. The explosion took place at Singjamei Chinga Makhong in capital Imphal. Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police, Clay Khongsai, said it was Improvised explosive device (IED) blast. After visiting the injured persons in the hospital, Manipur Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh suspected that bomb was denoted to target migrant workers in the town.
