Hammer procession heralds beginning of Holi festivities in Allahabad

Allahabad, March 16 (ANI): Although 'Holi', the festival of colours, is celebrated with dance and spraying colours on each other across India, but in Allahabad, residents celebrated it in their unique manner by taking out a hammer procession in which the hammer is adorned like a groom along with a fan as its bride. All the traditional rituals of a Hindu marriage were performed to wed the hammer and the fan on this occasion. The procession herald the beginning of Holi festivities. Colourful bikes ride through Delhi roads raising awareness about Cancer

Environmentalist Sunita Narain was also present while flagging off Mega Cycling Carnival 2014. India pauses search for missing Malaysian Airliner

Port Blair, March 16 (ANI): India on Sunday has put on hold its search for missing Malaysia Airlines flight MH370, at the request of the government in Kuala Lumpur, which wants to reassess the week-old hunt for the Boeing 777 that is suspected of being deliberately flown off course. India had been combing two areas - one around the Andaman and Nicobar Islands; and a second, further west, in the Bay of Bengal. Both operations have been suspended, but may yet resume, defence officials said.
