Kargil, Aug 12 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday arrived in Leh, amidst high security, where he is scheduled to address a rally. He is also going to visit Kargil later in the day. This is the PM's first visit to both these places after assuming his office. He will be laying the foundation stone for the Leh-Srinagar transmission line. Also, he will inaugurate two hydro-power projects in Ladakh as well as address citizens in the region. Police busted illegal gun manufacturing unit in Odisha

Odisha, Aug 12 (ANI): Acting on a tip-off, Police raided and busted an illegal gun manufacturing unit in Odisha's Angul district. A total of 31 country-made pistols and 500 rounds of live cartridges were seized from the unit that was running inside a rented house. Superintendent of police Narasingh Bhola, Angul District said that the state police acted on intelligence input on illegal trading and manufacture of arms and ammunitions and raided several areas. Bhola added that a high level probe was underway. Police have arrested five accused while the prime accused has managed to escape. Aug 12, 2014

AAP demands revoking govt's orders that stripped ACB's power to probe govt employees

New Delhi, Aug 12 (ANI): Aam Aadmi party demanded revoking of orders issued by the ruling BJP government that stripped the Delhi Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB) of its powers to probe government employees for bribery. The move was aimed at clipping the powers that the Arvind Kejriwal-led government invoked to book two petroleum ministers earlier this year. AAP leader Sanjay Singh said that they demand immediate repealing of the notification which the government had issued. This notification gave the ACB a free hand to probe offences under the anti-corruption law in Delhi, irrespective of who is involved. Reportedly, the lines were being laid near Shipki village in the Indo-China border, where cross-border trade commences. Accoring to reports, Chinese patrol close to the Lukma post monitored by Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) recently objected to erecting poles in the region for electricity provision. They sought that the poles be built inside India and not on the border. Over two lakh cotton flags were produced in the state last year and this year in wake of the new government, the Indian flag manufacturers have produced over three lakh tri coloured flags. The flag printers in Coimbatore claim that they produce around 5000 flags daily and this year they are working day and night and hence their labour also has doubled.
