Earlier this year, India_s top court temporarily relieved N. Srinivasan of his duties as the country_s cricket board president in the wake of his son-in-law, Gurunath Meiyappan, being indicted for illegal betting on the 2013 IPL tournament. Srinivasan stood down in June. Justice Mudgal, who probed fixing allegations in the IPL 2013, also states that the former BCCI boss was not involved in scuttling the probe, as it has been alleged in some sectors.
