Rahul Gandhi addresses rally in Haryana, slams BJP for not fulfilling promises

Sirsa, Oct 11 (ANI): Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi on Saturday addressed a rally in Sirsa district of Haryana. Gandhi praised the development taking place in the state under Congress rule. He said that the leaders of BJP only say that Haryana has not progressed but ignore the problem of drugs which prevails in the neighbouring state of Punjab which NDA governs. He then appealed to the people of Haryana to vote for Congress and choose the path of development.

Indian Navy prepares for Cyclone Hudhud

Vizag, Oct 11 (ANI): The Indian Navy prepared itself for the Cyclone Hudhud which is expected to hit the coastal areas of Andhra Pradesh and Odisha by Sunday afternoon. Rear Admiral Ajendra B Singh said that 4 ships are standing fully prepared to conquer the effects of the cyclone with rescue material for nearly 5000 people. Threat of cyclone Hudhud halts train services in eastern coast

Visakhapatnam, Oct 11 (ANI): Indian Railways cancelled trains in the eastern coast on Saturday as Cyclone Hudhud approaches with the threat of widespread damage. Thirty seven trains originating from port city Visakhapatnam and Bhubaneshwar or going through either of them, were cancelled for Sunday, when the cyclone is set to hit. Thirty one trains will be diverted through other states. Cyclone Hudhud was about 470 km offshore on Friday, satellite images showed, and was expected to hit land around the key port city of Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh on Sunday morning. It will also impact the neighbouring Odisha. Passengers are now scared to board trains. Help lines have been set up at various railway stations and emergency and controlling staff have been deployed to meet any contingency. The railways will also coordinate with the State Government and National Disaster Relief Force, if need be. The railways have also guaranteed speedy refunds for passengers whose trains have been cancelled or diverted.

NDA applauds 'Saansad Adarsh Gram Yojana' even as Congress calls it a UPA policy
