DERC hints at revision of power tariff, congress reacts

New Delhi, June 21 (ANI): The Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission has hinted that it will revise electricity tariff in the city, which is still grappling with unprecedented power outages. DERC said that the electricity tariff could be increased in the city due to increase in the coal prices, which in turn had increased the cost of electricity production. Congress protests over railway fare hike against NDA govt

New Delhi, June 21 (ANI): Congress workers in Delhi staged protest on Saturday under DPCC Chief Arvinder Singh Lovely over the hike in railway fare by 14.2 per cent and the subsequent hikes in other articles as a result of the same. The protesters shouted anti-BJP slogans and carried placards demanding to take back the hike. Lovely termed the fare hike the biggest in history and also mocked BJP’s 'good days are to come' slogan. Campa Cola Society's residents refuse to budge, to continue silent protest against eviction

Mumbai, June 21 (ANI): Residents of unauthorised Campa Cola Housing Society in Mumbai refused to budge on Saturday saying they would continue their silent protest against demolition drive. Residents protested against Mumbai's civic body, Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), who had arrived at gates of the society for eviction. Distraught residents refused to vacate their homes and were willing to go to jail to prevent the BMC from razing down their houses. Congress worker's house attacked by unidentified gunmen in JandK

Sopore, June 21 (ANI): Unidentified gunmen barged inside the house of Congress party activist Khazir Mohammad Naikoo in Baramulla district of Kashmir and opened heavy fire upon their family members. In the firing that started around 9:05 pm Friday night, two persons identified as Nazir Ahmad Naikoo, son of Khazir Mohammad and his cousin Shabir Ahmad, suffered critical injuries, and the duo were immediately shifted to Sub-district hospital, where Nazir succumbed to injuries. Indian worker returns safely from Iraq

Navsari, June 21(ANI): An Indian labourer who was working in Iraq safely returned to his home town Navsari in Gujarat. Patel said he was unable to contact his stranded friends in Iraq due to no connectivity. Militants from the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL), along with other Sunni rebels, are reported to have abducted dozens of foreigners including Indian nationals as they swept through towns in the Tigris valley north of Baghdad in recent days.
