Urs of Sai Sahib draws devotees from different faiths

Poonch, June 09 (ANI): The culture of Jammu and Kashmir is a synthesis of a variety of customs and religious influences, which have given birth to an ethos that celebrates seamless co-existence. And there are many example of this fact. Urs of Sai sahib was celebrated with fervor and enthusiasm by the people of different communities in Poonch district of Jammu. Here devotees belonging to various communities come to seek blessings of the revered saint. People believe that wishes are granted by paying visit to his shrine. While the Urs of Sai Sahib is celebrated every year with lot of pomp as devotees not only from within the state but from other parts of the country also, visit the shrine. Urs of sufi poet Rehman Dar was celebrated quietly and his dictions were remembered on this occasion. US is committed to relationship with India: Top US official Nisha Desai Biswal

New Delhi, June 09 (ANI): The United States is very committed to relationship with India, said US Assistant Secretary of State Nisha Desai Biswal on Monday in New Delhi. This is the first such engagement between India and the US after the Narendra Modi-led BJP government took over. The visit, which the US requested, will see Biswal try to reset the India-US relationship that has come through tense times due to former Indian envoy Devyani Khobragade case. The two sides are expected to discuss upcoming engagements including the India-US-Japan trilateral talks on June 23-24, as well as the next round of the India-U.S. Strategic Dialogue, which is expected soon. Speaking to mediapersons, Biswal was hopeful that the meeting with Indian government will be fruitful. Congress delegation meets Delhi Chief Secretary over power crisis issue

New Delhi, June 09 (ANI): A Congress delegation on Monday met Chief Secretary of Delhi, Sanjay Kumar Srivastava over the issue of power crisis in the national capital. The Delhi Congress leaders later gheraoed the Chief Secretary as the government has surrendered on the issue and had failed to find a solution in the matter. Congress has also said that they would gherao the residences of the seven BJP MPs in the national capital unless the crisis in the power and water supply situation in the city was resolved soon. Security beefed up in India post militant attack in Pakistan airport

He has refused food since April 22. The hunger strike is to protest against the abduction of a nationalist student leader, Zahid Baloch, by Pakistani security forces. Zahid, who heads the Baloch Student Organisation (Azad), was picked up from Quetta, the capital of Balochistan province, onMarch 18.
