Bangalore, Nov 18 (ANI): Eminent scientist and Bharat Ratna awardee CNR Rao, who sparked a controversy by calling the politicians idiots, claimed that the media has distorted his statement and his remark was not an outburst. Defending himself, he further clarified that he wanted to say that the funds in scientific field must be increased more to be at par with other countries.

Naresh Agarwal on Mulayams demand to ban English in Parliament

Freedom fighters condemn violence by BNP-led alliance in Bangladesh

Rangpur, Nov 18: A peace rally organized by “Anwesha Shanskriti Songothan”, a social organization, was attended by over five thousand freedom fighters and scholars from eight district of Rangpur division. Saddened by frequent strikes and violence by Bangladesh Nationalist Party-led alliance, the freedom fighters called for peaceful elections ahead. They also called for a ban on radical outfits like the Jamaat-e-Islami, which was against the creation of the country and still continues with its violent ways. Bangladesh, then known as East Pakistan, broke away from West Pakistan after a bloody war in 1971.

Congress files 3 complains to EC against BJP

Sheila Dikshit gives 'water excuse' for people moving out from Rahul's rally

New Delhi, Nov 18 (ANI): A day after Sheila Dikshit pleaded the crowd at Rahul Gandhi's rally in Delhi to stop and listen to his speech, Dikshit again came to the forefront for giving excuse on the people's disinterest in Gandhi's speech. India- Bangladesh agree to work against militants

Akhaurah, Nov 18 (ANI): Addressing a joint press conference Bangladesh Home Minister Mohiuddin Khan Alamgir promised to hand over any Indian militant caught hiding in its territory to India. Alamgir and his Indian counterpart Sushil Kumar Shinde met to inaugurate a multi purpose integrated checkpost along the border in Akhaura. Alamgir said Indian militant Anup Chetia, currently lodged in a jail in Bangladesh, would be extradited after the completion of judicial formalities.
