Massive employment drive for youth takes place in Kashmir

Srinagar, Nov 19 (ANI): A recruitment drive restarted in Jammu and Kashmir and corporate firms held workshops to provide employment to youth as the region was recovering from the worst floods in a century. The three-day drive was launched on Monday in Kashmir's capital, Srinagar, by a special initiative called Udaan or 'flight' under the public-private partnership, National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) India. 'Udaan' has been working in the state for three years but had halted its efforts after floods struck the region in September. A coordinator of the NSDC, Bint Abass, said that they were renewing efforts to provide jobs to the affected youth in the state. Abass added that 18 corporate firms were participating in the drive to train and recruit youth in a wide range of sectors like banking, information technology, finance, hospitality and education.
