Boris Johnson: Russia is up to all sorts of no good

British Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson has been invited to Russia to speak with his counterpart, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, in an attempt to resolve significant differences over conflicts in Syria and Ukraine. Speaking in Brussels on 6 March Johnson said he will confront Russia on a number of topics inlcuding the Ukraine and Russian cyber warfare. Syrian White Helmets miraculously rescue young girl from Damascus rubble

Dramatic footage from the Syrian Civil Defence, aka the White Helmets, has been released, showing their volunteers finding an young child buried alive underneath the rubble of a building in Damascus. Filmmakers behind The White Helmets documentary lament Donald Trump immigration ban

The filmmakers behind a documentary about the Syrian Civil Defence, also known as the White Helmets, have criticised the US immigration ban implemented by President Donald Trump. The film, which documents the efforts of Syrian volunteers who act as rescue workers in the war-torn country, has been nominated for Best Documentary Feature at the 2017 Oscars. However, a number of people involved in the film, including White Helmets founder Raed Saleh, may not be able to attend the ceremony due to the visa ban on people coming in from Syria and six other Muslim-majority countries. New US President Donald Trump has banned people from seven Muslim-majority countries from entering the US, on what his administration say is a temporary basis. The executive order has been labelled a Muslim ban by some critics, one Trump’s team have been quick to deny.
