We are concerned about food inflation: Food Minister KV Thomas

Kochi, Oct 15 (ANI): As official data showed that inflation accelerated to a seven-month high in September driven by sharp spikes in onion and vegetable prices, Union food minister KV Thomas on Tuesday said that the government is concerned about the inflation and is taking measures to curb it. Thomas further said that the Indian agricultural products are in great demand at the international market and therefore the export cannot be cancelled abruptly, but the government is putting a check on it.

China selling nuke reactors to Pakistan is cause for concern: Defence Expert

New Delhi, Oct 15 (ANI): China's decision to firm up the sale of two more nuclear reactors to Pakistan has raised serious concerns for India. India has earlier conveyed its objections at both the political and official levels in China, as well as the Nuclear Suppliers Group in the last few months for the sale. Defence analyst Uday Bhaskar stated that China has been one of the most robust supporters of Pakistan nuclear programs. Fishermen killing: India's Foreign Ministry summons Pakistan envoy

New Delhi, Oct 15 (ANI): The recent killing of India's fisherman by patrolling marines of Pakistan on the high seas of international waters prompted Foreign Ministry to summon Deputy High Commissioner of Pakistan to India lodge a stern protest. Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Syed Akbaruddin condemned the incident wherein Pakistani Maritime Security Agency had shot dead one Indian fisherman and detained 30 others off Jakhau coast on Friday.
