UP Secy says nobody dies of cold, AAP calls it arrogance of leaders

Ghaziabad, Dec 27 (ANI): After UP Principal Secretary, Home, Anil Gupta said that 'no one dies of cold', AAP leader Kumar Vishwas called it pure arrogance and said that when the people will have an alternative like AAP in Delhi, the leaders will come back to their position. BJP on probe panel on snoopgate and clean chit to Modi

New Delhi, Dec 27 (ANI): BJP leader Prakash Javadekar slammed the Congress on Friday for setting up an inquiry committee to probe the alleged snooping charges against the Gujarat government. Javadekar said that the Congress is scared of the surprising popularity and public support for Narendra Modi and therefore is trying to entangle him in such cases. Kaushambi, Dec 27 (ANI): With hours before Arvind Kejriwal becomes the Chief Minister of Delhi, a sting operation by a TV channel suggest that Delhi's government departments are destroying important files and papers, in order to hinder any checks against them. Kejriwal said that if files are being destroyed, its very clear that the officers are corrupt and are afraid. He also asked Delhi's general secretary to look into the matter and safeguard important files.

CNG prices up by Rs 4.50 in Delhi, Kejriwal questions timing of hike

Kaushambi, Dec 27 (ANI): As just two days before Arvind Kejriwal is to sworn in as Delhi Chief Minister, the prices of CNG was hiked by Rs 4.50, Kejriwal questioned on the timing of the same. He said that the government should have waited for two days and taken the new government's opinion on the same too. ABVP protests over repeated parole granted to Sanjay Dutt

Mumbai, Dec 27 (ANI): Supporters of the youth wing of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) protested outside jailed Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt's residence in Mumbai to oppose the grant of repeated paroles to the actor. Dutt has been convicted under Arms Act for possessing illegal firearms. On December 21, Sanjay Dutt was let out of the prison on a month long parole after he filed an application citing his wife Manyata's illness, although media reported that she was seen attending social events. Reportedly, Manyata has been diagnosed with a tumour in the liver and a suspected heart ailment. Earlier, the 53-year-old actor had also availed a month-long furlough on medical grounds in October.

UP govt admits death of 34 children in Muzaffarnagar relief camps, draws protest

Lucknow/ Muzaffarnagar/ Varanasi, Dec 27 (ANI): Amid a raging controversy over numbar of deaths in Muzaffarnagar relief camps, Uttar Pradesh government has admitted that 34 children below the age of 15 died in the camps for the riot-hit victims. Forty-five people have died in the prosperous sugarcane district of Muzaffarnagar and surrounding areas since clashes erupted between Muslims and majority Hindu Jats. This was concluded in a report by a fact-finding committee of the state government. Earlier, Samajwadi Party Chief Mulayam Singh Yadav had made a remark where he stated that those living in the relief camps are not riot victims, but conspirators and political activists planted by Congress party and the BJP.

BJP celebrates clean chit to Narendra Modi in Gulberg Society case

New Delhi/ Nagpur/ Mumbai, Dec 27 (ANI): Hours after an Allahabad court gave clean chit to Narendra Modi in Gulberg Society massacre, BJP workers cheered and celebrated the verdict. Party workers celebrated the occasion at the party office in New Delhi by bursting fire crackers and shouting slogans in praise of Modi. Meanwhile, the ruling Congress urged the petitioner, Zakia Jafri to take recourse to judicial remedies. CPI (M) leader Brinda Karat denounced the court's ruling and said the court should not have missed the wealth of evidence available against Modi.

At least five killed and several injured in Jalpaiguri blast

Jalpaiguri, Dec 27 (ANI): At least five people were killed and several others injured when a bomb tied to a bicycle exploded in Jalpaiguri district of West Bengal. Superintendent of police, Amit P Jawalgi said that he was expecting such an incident because Martyrs Day was being celebrated in the region. Jawalgi confirmed that nine people were injured in the blast on Thursday. The blast occurred at around 7 pm in Bajrapara area and the injured were admitted to the Jalpaiguri District Hospital. A high alert has been sounded across the state after the incident.
