Chhattisgarh polls commences amidst security

Chhattisgarh, Nov 11 (ANI): People in Chhattisgarh cast their votes during the first phase of polling for the state assembly which started on Monday. Director General of Police of Raipur, Ram Niwas said that with the support of people and security forces, a micro level planning has been done at the polling booths. Officials assured strict policing in Maoist affected area during polls. The Rajnandgaon constituency is completely a Maoist-affected area while rest of the constituencies is partially affected.

Indo-China joint military drill organises basketball match for friendly relations

Chengdu, Nov 11 (ANI): Continuing the 10-day joint military drill, army troops from India and China held a basketball match in order to enhance bilateral ties during session taking place in Chengdu province in China. The soldiers practiced field firing using weapons of the other country to combat militancy and tested their physical endurance during the obstacle course by indulging in training exercises. The Directors of the panel also visited the training areas of the two teams. The basketball teams comprised of a mix of army men from both the nations.

RIC meet decides foreign inclusion only solution to Syrian crisis

New Delhi, Nov 11 (ANI): Foreign Ministers from India, China and Russia agreed that peaceful political inclusion is the only solution to the growing crisis in Syria. The 12th Russia-India-China (RIC) foreign ministers meeting was held in New Delhi on Sunday. The three leaders addressed the mediapersons after the meet. Expressing concern over the ongoing tension in Syria, India's Foreign Minister Salman Khurshid said the three leaders are of the same view that a sustainable political solution can only be found through a peaceful and inclusive political process and not through military solution.

Raipur, Nov 11 (ANI): Passing on the blame for the violent clashes that took place in Jagdalpur in Chhattisgarh on Sunday night, Congress Spokesperson BC Das said that BJP can do anything to remain in power and this is the history of BJP. Bangladesh activist demands neutral caretaker govt before elections

Rangpur, Nov 11 (ANI): Ahead of Bangladesh elections, activists and leaders staged a peace rally in Rangpur district to protest against the recent violence and press their demand for a neutral caretaker government to oversee the next general elections. Jagdalpur, Nov 11 (ANI): As the polls in Chhattisgarh commenced, Congress and BJP indulged in a violent clash in Jagdalpur which left many leaders from both the parties injured. BJP leader Santosh Bapna said that it was Congress leaders who started the clash and are putting wrong allegations on BJP. He said that Congress leader Shamu Kashyap and others were distributing money to the voters in the area 'in the fear of losing the elections'. He also said that as soon as the cars of the BJP arrived they started smashing the windows and attacking the car. Further, he said that this is the principle of the ruling party and they blame the opposition for the same.
