Intensified cold wave conditions disrupt normal life in many states

Bhopal/ Shimla, Jan 11 (ANI): Piercing cold wave conditions continue unabated in central India with dense fog disrupting vehicles plying on the road along with northern regions too where fresh snowfall intensified cold. Dense fog, biting cold and icy winds magnified the agony of daily commuters in Bhopal which woke up to foggy roads making it almost impossible to drive through. Glaring headlights too were of little help as people tried to make way to their office and desired destinations on Saturday. Meanwhile, Himachal Pradesh was also in the grip of cold wave as snowfall in the upper regions forced people to stay indoors. Jan 11, 2014

New Delhi, Jan 11 (ANI): As another Former SC judge Swatanter Kumar has been accused of sexually harassing a law intern in 2011 following AK Ganguly, senior advocate Kamini Jaiswal said that the Supreme Court should now be careful and appoint better judges. Jaiswal said that this is not shocking as you get what you sow. She said that the SC should form a committee as soon as possible to look into such cases wherein a law intern is harassed by such high dignitaries who are meant to deliver justice to people. Trivandrum, Jan 11 (ANI): Hundreds of people gathered in Trivandrum on Saturday to take part in a marathon to create awareness about the cancer disease and support the underprivileged cancer patients. Thousands of men, women and children participated in the annual run to raise the funds for the patients in the regional Cancer centre. The run started from Kanakakunnu palace in Trivandrum at 6.30 am. Theme for the marathon was to 'RUN FOR LIFE'. Babulal Gaur says less crime when women are 'fully-clothed', draws criticism

Bhopla/ Mumbai, Jan 11 (ANI): Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Babulal Gaur yet again stirred up controversy after he said that crime against women is less in Chennai as they are "fully-clothed." It is not the first time when Gaur has made such remarks. Gaur was in limelight in 2013 also for condemning Western culture. Gaur attributed the low crime rate in South India to the full clothes worn by women and said that people in south are more religious because of which they have good relations between them and thereby the city witnesses less crime. During the inauguration of the Ayodhya Nagar Police Station on Thursday, he made this remark which brought criticism.
