Mistry gets bail following arrest for tearing Modi's posters, says will fight for rights

Vadodara, April 03 (ANI): Congress candidate against Narendra Modi from Vadodara constituency, Madhusudan Mistry who was arrested for tearing Modi's posters has been released on bail and said that it was all done by the state government. Mistry said that it is the right of every political party to get campaigning space and that the party will fight for its rights. He further said that a Congress delegation has approached the Election Commission over the issue and will see what actions are taken up. Meanwhile, Mistry refuted claims of tearing the posters and said that he just was putting Congress posters there.

Congress takes 'tampered EVMs' and campaigning space issue to EC

New Delhi, April 03 (ANI): Congress delegation on Thursday approached the Election Commission with the issue of 'tampered EVMs' and unequal campaigning space given to BJP and Congress by the Gujarat administration. Congress Spokesperson Abhishek Manu Singhvi said that the one of the EVM in Assam gives vote to Lotus when Hand button is pressed. He also said that the issues are brought to EC's notice and they will respond after inquiry in the matter.

PIB releases 'Electoral Reference Handbook' before 2014 polls

New Delhi, April 03 (ANI): The Press Information Bureau (PIB) released a detailed analysis of polls compiled into an 'Electoral Reference Handbook' on Thursday to disseminate information over understanding and simplifying the tedious exercise of general elections in India. The 'General Elections 2014: Reference Handbook', is a compendium on past elections and the latest provisions relating to the general elections. Apart from English and Hindi, the book will be made available in 11 regional languages, namely, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Oriya, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu and Urdu.

Congress has no answer to Modi: BJP

Bangalore, April 03 (ANI): Senior BJP leader Venkaiah Naidu, hit at ruling Congress saying it has not nominated any leader for the top post as they have no one to match the stature of BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi. Naidu slammed Congress for its false promises and accused the party members of indulging in dirty politics. Speaking to mediapersons on Thursday in Bangalore, Naidu said that the party was running away from the debate on the promises and performances. Kejriwal claims his governance in Delhi helped reducing corruption
