Allahabad, Feb 25 (ANI): At least 28 couples tied wedding knot in Prerna Parmarth Ashram of Allahabad in a mass wedding ceremony. Overjoyed couples, who were coming from economically and socially weak families, were happy at the series of events. The ‘baraat’ to the ashram was let by different vehicles, elephants and horses and thousands of people gathered to bless the newly-weds. Social Activist Anurag Verma said that the Ashram has already organized marriages for over 1000 couples from all religions and communities till date. Gaya, Feb 25 (ANI): Maoists victimize family of a dead police informer in “red corridor” region of Gaya in Bihar, demolishing and turning their houses and farmlands into ashes, leaving them in distress with no means of livelihood. Lamenting government's apathy, the family said that the authorities had failed to provide them any compensation or help for their survival. The Maoists had attacked house of Vijay Yadav after brandishing him as a police informer in March 2011. The rebels also looted the house before burning it down.
