New Delhi, June 19 (ANI): NDMA Vice-Chairman M Shashidhar Reddy on Thursday confirmed that he has put in his papers so that the new government may reconstitute the NDMA. According to reports, not only the 7 governors appointed by the UPA, all members of the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), appointed by the previous government, have been asked to resign.

Sohie Chaudhary reprise 'Raat Akeli hai' with Raghav Sachar

Mumbai, June 19 (ANI): Actor-singer Sophie Chaudhary in collaboration with popular musician Raghav Sachar has reprised one of bollywood's most romantic numbers by Asha Bhosle 'Raat Akeli Hai'for her next performance in the seventh season of celebrity dance show 'Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa'. Speaking to media persons in Mumbai, Sophie said. Actually when we were thinking which song should we do, Raghav said let's do Raat Akeli Hai. So I was a little scared because I think it's a difficult song. Not only because it's Asha ji's song and I have sung her songs before and she is tough to copy and emulate and you need to sing it in your own style. But the range is from high to low. Also since I have never done such kind of song before and I want people to see that Sophie can sing in many different genres.While Raghav spoke about why did they choose this song. The duo has re-created all the sounds, including the percussion with their own voice. Sounds inspired by fashion like the heels of a stiletto and zipping up of leather boots have also been used in the track.

BSE closes points 44.45 down on June 19

New Delhi, June 19 (ANI): Trading at the Bombay Stock Exchange today closed 44.45 points down to stand at 25,201.80. At the National Stock Exchange the Nifty closed 17.50 points down to stand at 7,540.70. Bharat Electronics ltd. and Max India were among the top gainers of Group A with an increase of 6.83% and 5.58% along with Colgate Palmolive and UPL with an increase of 3.59% and 3.20% respectively, while the top losers of Group A include United Spirits and Oil India with a decrease of 8.12% and 6.54% along with ONGC and BPCL with a decrease of 5.12% and 4.76% at the close of the markets. The Auto sector is up 49.77 points at 15,015.57 while the banking sector is down 159.04 points at 17,264.97 and the realty sector is down 7.12 points at 1,996.28. The Indian currency is down 0.46% at Rs 60.11 per dollar.

New Delhi, June 19 (ANI): Kim Kardashian revealed in her Instagram account that her new mobile app ' Kim Kardashian: Hollywood' is all set to launch next week. The 33-year-old reality TV star Instagrammed new game's trailer with the caption: "Excited to announce the new KimKardashianGame launches next week on the App Store and Google Play! Check out the trailer... (sic)," a leading daily reported. In the game, a player can choose a celebrity character and navigate them through Hollywood, as they try to garner fame, attend glamorous events and join in photo shoots. Yashwant Sinha released from jail in Jharkhand

New Delhi, June 19 (ANI): Senior BJP leader Yashwant Sinha was released from jail in Jharkhand on Thursday after he agreed to pay bail on Wednesday. Sinha, was arrested a fortnight ago for inciting a group of BJP workers to tie up an Electricity Board official to protest against a lengthy power crisis in his former constituency of Hazaribagh. He had agreed to apply for bail after senior leader LK Advani visited him in jail to persuade him to file a bail plea. Advani met Yashwant Sinha on Tuesday and asked him to continue his movement against power cuts in Hazaribagh after getting released from jail. Advani had also said that Sinha was capable of being the Jharkhand Chief Minister after his agitation against the power crisis in the state.

Indian organization provides prosthetic limbs to amputees in Afghanistan

Kabul, June 19 (ANI): An Indian organisation gave amputees in Afghanistan a new lease of life by providing them with prosthetic limbs free of charge at a month-long camp in Kabul. A team of 25 artisans from Bhagwan Mahaveer Viklang Sahayata Samiti (BMVSS) - non-government organisation (NGO) that designs and distributes prosthetic limbs free of charge - provided the victims of landmines and other war-related atrocities with the prosthetic limbs, which is popularly known as the Jaipur foot. The amputees also saw the camp as a display of positive bilateral relationships.

Chhattisgarh Governor Shekhar Dutt resigns from office

New Delhi, June 19 (ANI): Governor of Chhattisgarh Shekhar Dutt stepped down from his office on Thursday. Earlier on Tuesday, Uttar Pradesh Governor BL Joshi also gave his resignation. The NDA government after coming to power had started nudging seven Congress-appointed governors to quit. BJP leader Subramanian Swamy had said earlier that all the Governors, who were appointed by the previous UPA government, should resign. The Congress however attacked the government over removal of governors and said that they should be allowed to complete their tenure.
