Leaders cast their vote on second-biggest day of 16th LS polls

Chennai/Alwar/ Sivaganga, April 24 (ANI): Leaders thronged the polling booth to exercise their franchise on Thursday on the second-biggest day of the 16th Lok Sabha polls. Journalist, N Ram after casting his vote in Chennai said Indian voters keep changing his or her mind where is volatility of the situation. India's junior sports minister, Jitendra Singh cast his vote in Alwar district of Rajasthan and said that high turnout is going to favour Congress. Meanwhile, Finance Minister P Chidambaram and DMK President M Karunanidhi also cast their votes from respective constituencies.

Police arrest three Maoists in Jharkhand

Palamu, April 24 (ANI): Acting on a tip-off, police arrested three Maoists accused in several attacks, in Jharkhand and also recovered arms and ammunition during search operation. Police recovered a looted police rifle and many rounds of unused bullets during the arrest of Maoists in Palamu district of Jharkhand. The Maoists, who say they are fighting for the rights of the poor and landless, control some of India's mineral-rich areas and operate in large swathes of eastern, central and southern countryside. Maoists, also known as Naxals, have killed police and politicians, and targeted government buildings and railway tracks in an insurgency that has killed thousands since 1960s.

BJP concerned only about power, not about poor: Sonia Gandhi

Valsad, April 24 (ANI): While addressing a rally in Valsad constituency of Gujarat, Congress President Sonia Gandhi on Thursday lashed out BJP and said that they are only concerned about gaining power and not about the welfare of poor.
