It Happens: Kashmir organises fair to draw youth towards agriculture

Srinagar, June 20 (ANI): Local authorities in India's northern Jammu and Kashmir state organised an agriculture fair to attract youth towards one of the oldest professions of the country. The fair was held to boost agriculture sector and make people aware of latest technologies in farming. The fair saw participation of farmers, agriculturists and people in large numbers. Farmers said the fair was helpful in providing knowledge but added it should be organised on grass-root levels too for greater reach. The agriculture sector forms the backbone of Kashmir's economy. Kulgam, June 20 (ANI): Police arrested a top militant on Friday from a hideout in Jammu and Kashmir state, said a senior officer. Acting on intelligence input, police launched a joint operation with army and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) to nab Abu Hanzalla, one of the commanders of Lashkar-e-Toiba, in Kulgam District. Hanzalla, who hails from Multan city of Pakistan, is involved in a series of killings.
