AirAsia India venture to break even in December, later than they expected

Bangalore, July 03 (ANI): Malaysian-based budget carrier AirAsia, on Thursday said it expected its India unit to break even in December, later than initially planned, after a delay in plane deliveries and a plan to boost investment in the fleet. The budget carrier, which launched its inaugural flight in India last month, had said it would break even around October. Tony Fernandes, owner and CEO of AirAsia, told reporters that the airline would also invest more money in new planes to raise its scale in India. AirAsia India, a three-way venture between the airline, India's Tata Group and investment firm Telestra Tradeplace, launched its debut flight on June 12.

Narendra Modi to flag off special train to Vaishno Devi, preparations underway

Katra, July 3 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to flag off a special train to reach Katra directly on Friday. Katra is the base camp of Mata Vaishno Devi shrine that is nestled in Trikuta Hills in Jammu and Kashmir's Reasi district. The train will traverse through seven tunnels and over 30 small and large bridges. There will be a small station - Chakrakhwal - between Udhampur and Katra.

Children fall ill after consuming mid day meal in New Delhi

New Delhi, July 3 (ANI): In yet another incident, children of Sarvodaya Kanya Vidyalaya in the Patparganj area of East Delhi fell ill after consuming the mid-day meal. Police recover huge cache of explosives from Maoist hotbed in Bihar

Gaya, July 3 (ANI): India's paramilitary Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) in a joint operation with district police recovered huge cache of explosives from Maoist hideout in red corridor of Bihar. The explosives were recovered from a cave in the outskirts of Gaya district on Wednesday. Maoists, also known as Naxals, have killed police and politicians, and targeted government buildings and railway tracks in an insurgency that has killed thousands since the 1960s. BSE closes points 17.46 down on July 3

New Delhi, July 03 (ANI): Trading at the Bombay Stock Exchange today closed 17.46 points down to stand at 25,823.75. At the National Stock Exchange the Nifty closed 10.35 points down to stand at 7,714.80. Glenmark pharmaceuticals ltd. and Eicher Motors were among the top gainers of Group A with an increase of 6.56% and 5.73% along with Uco Bank and Bata India with an increase of 5.61% and 4.71% respectively, while the top losers of Group A include GMR Infra and JPPOWER with a decrease of 7.83% and 4.87% along with Jaiprakash Associates Ltd. and Unitech with a decrease of 4.70% and 4.66% at the close of the markets. The Auto sector is up 116.11 points at 16,082.41 while the banking sector is down 32.83 points at 17,711.80 and the realty sector is down 30.87 points at 2,075.90. The Indian currency is up 0.12% at Rs 59.76 per dollar.
