Rajnath Singh reviews situation in flood affected Northeastern states, releases funds from centre

Guwahati/ Tura, Oct 01 (ANI): Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Wednesday took aerial survey of flood affected states of Assam, Meghalaya and Arunachal Pradesh. He also held a meeting with Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi and later with Meghalaya Chief Minister Mukul Sangma over the situation in the states. Singh further announced funds released by the central government to the state governments. He said that according to the information received, in Assam 40 people have died, in Meghalaya 55 and in Arunachal Pradesh 56. He assured of all possible help to the states by the government of India. Further, Singh appealed all the political parties to come together to help the people in these areas. Oct 1, 2014

New Delhi, Oct 1 (ANI): Trading at the Bombay Stock Exchange today closed 62.5 points down to stand at 26,567.99. At the National Stock Exchange the Nifty closed 19.25 points down to stand at 7,945.55. BERGER PAINTS INDIA LTD and SUZLON were among the top gainers of Group A with an increase of 5.52% and 4.94% along with BATA INDIA and SHRIRAM CITY UNION FINANCE LTD with an increase of 4.92% and 4.25% respectively, while the top losers of Group A include INFRATEL and SOBHA with a decrease of 5.43% and 3.46% along with MARUTI and MRF with a decrease of 3.34% and 3.27% at the close of the markets. The Auto sector is down 27.03 points at 17,719.87 while the banking sector is down 76.89 points at 17,538.57 and the reality sector is down 10.03 points at 1,571.24. New Delhi, Oct 01 (ANI): Nitish Katara's mother Neelam Katara on Wednesday expressed her anguish over DP Yadav sharing the stage with BJP Chief Amit Shah, saying that such steps don't augur well for the common man. She said that this sets up a doubtful situation on whether 'achche din' are for people like DP Yadav or the common people of India. DP Yadav recently shared stage with Amit Shah in a couple of rallies in Haryana where the latter was campaigning for party candidates ahead of the Assembly polls slated to be held on October 15. He is the father of Vikas Yadav, who, along with his cousins Vishal and Sukhdev, has been held guilty of murdering Nitish Katara because he was involved in a relationship with his sister Bharti Yadav.
