Reactions flow in after Bihar CM alleges bias against Dalit Community

New Delhi, Sep 29 (ANI): Reactions poured in from political leaders on Monday after Bihar Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi sparked controversy by stating that the temple premises and the god's idol in Madhubani district were cleansed after he visited the temple. BJP leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said that it is funny that the head of the state is complaining to his subjects. CPI leader Atul Anjan slamming Manjhi for his comment said that he should stop playing caste-politics as this would not benefit Bihar. However, Minister of Consumer Affairs Ram Vilas Paswan and RJD leader Manojh Jha said that it is shameful that even the Chief Minister has to face caste-based discriminations within his state. Hyderabad police academy donates a day's salary for J and K flood victims

New Delhi, Sep 29 (ANI): Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Monday said that Director General of SVP National Police Academy in Hyderabad, Aruna M Bahuguna met him to donate funds for relief work in Jammu and Kashmir. Singh said that director general and the IPS officers of the academy have given their one day's salary for victims of the flood ravaged J and K. he further congratulated the academy for the noble task done. Temple was washed after my visit: Bihar CM Jeetan Manjhi

Patna, Sept 29 (ANI): Bihar Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi kicked up yet another controversy with his remarks that the idol in a temple's premises in Madhubani district was cleansed after he visited it. Speaking at a ceremony organized to commemorate the birth centenary of three-time Dalit chief minister Bhola Paswan Shastri in Patna, Manjhi said he had visited the temple only after people had earnestly asked him to. Manjhi, who visited the temple while on campaigning in Raj Nagar, said he was informed about the incident by the mines and geology minister Ram Lakhan Ram Raman. Sep 29, 2014

Journalist Rajdeep Sardesai manhandled by Modi supporters outside MSG in New York

New Delhi, Sep 29 (ANI): A few hours before Prime Minister Narendra Modi was to address the Indian-American community at Madison Square Garden in New York, TV Today consulting editor Rajdeep Sardesai was manhandled by a group of pro-Modi supporters outside the venue. Immediately after the incident Sardesai tweeted: "Great crowd at Madison square garden! except a few idiots who still believe abuse is a way of proving their machismo!Glad we caught the idiots on cam. Only way to shame the mob is to show them." Sardesai was first heckled and then pushed by a group gathered to support Prime Minister Narendra Modi, before the leader arrived at the venue to address Indian Americans.
