Emmys 2016 highlights: Game of Thrones sweeps the board with 12 wins

Hit TV show Game of thrones won 12 Emmy awards on 18 September in Los Angeles, whilst FXs 10-hour dramatisation of O.J. Simpsons double murder trial took home nine Emmys. Russian opposition claims election was not free and fair

Former prime minister and Russian opposition leader of the Parnas party, Mikhail Kasyanov, has claimed that the vote in the parliamentary elections was not a free and fair vote. Russias liberal opposition failed to get over the five percent threshold needed for party representation, the exit poll and preliminary results showed. Kasyanov was also concerned at the low turn out for the election as it was just 39.3%. Sep 19, 2016

Manhattan explosion caught on CCTV

The footage shows the moment of the blast, captured by cameras at Orangetheory Fitness, a local gym on the street. The blast injured at least 29 people and police are saying that the cause of the blast was unknown, but based on initial information they had ruled out international terrorism and natural gas.
