Congress targets BJP govt over spate in swine flu cases

Bhopal, Feb 20 (ANI): Congress party targeted the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party government in Madhya Pradesh over spate in swine flu cases. The deadly H1N1 virus has hit Indian topography in its most adverse situation claiming over 700 lives in the country. Congress leader Mukesh Nayak accused the state and central government of conspiring with the pharmaceutical companies. West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee visits Bangladesh on maiden official trip

Dhaka, Feb 20 (ANI): West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee arrived in Dhaka for her maiden official visit, on the invitation of Bangladesh's Foreign Minister Abul Hassan Mahmood Ali. Banerjee, along with her entourage, was received by junior minister for foreign affairs, Md Shahriar Alam, at the airport in capital Dhaka city. Before her arrival, Mamata tweeted that it was "a very emotional moment" for her. "I last visited Bangladesh 17 years ago and this is my first visit after new Government came to power in West Bengal," she tweeted. "India and Bangladesh share a special friendship and a special bond," read another tweet from Banerjee. Govt launches eBiz portal to improve Indias rank on ease of doing business index

New Delhi, Feb 20 (ANI): In a bid to improve Indias ranking on ease of doing business index, central government launched a business portal in New Delhi. Finance Minister Arun Jaitley launched the single window government-to-business (G2B) portal,, for 11 central government services. He said that an ideal country is the one where businessmen do not have to visit the corridors of power to get their work done. Jaitley hoped that the eBiz portal would improve Indias ranking on ease of doing business index. Mangalore, Feb 20 (ANI): Indian space mission was not a medium of showcasing one-upmanship over competitors but it ensured that the tangible benefits were felt by the common man, said its former chief K Radhakrishnan. Radhakrishnan said only nine of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) funds were utilized for projects like Mars Orbiter Mission, while the rest were put to use for development of schemes for the common man. The Mars Orbiter Mission, or MOM, cost $74 million, a fraction of the $671 million the US space agency NASA spent on its newly arrived MAVEN Mars mission.
