It has been declared a heritage building and is on the tourism map. The people of Poonch are happy with renovation of the historical fort, as it will help attract more tourists.Bandipora is a newly formed district, but it lacks proper sanitation facilities. According to residents of the area, the drainage system of the town is so poor that roads are flooded during rains. There is also no proper mechanism to clear and dispose of garbage from the main markets.Most people of Moda Khetan village are below the poverty line. New Delhi, Feb 20 (ANI): Political leaders on Thursday welcomed the Supreme Court’s decision to put on hold Rajiv Gandhi killer’s release. The Apex court has restrained the Tamil Nadu government from releasing three convicts in Rajiv Gandhi assassination case. The Tamil Nadu government has been asked to maintain status quo till further orders. The Central Government on Thursday moved to the Supreme Court asking a stay on the Tamil Nadu Government's decision to release all the convicted assassinators of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi. The government has contended that the Tamil Nadu government cannot release the convicts since their case was investigated by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), which is a central agency, and hence the state has to consult the centre.
