BJP on Mulayam to contest from Azamgarh to counter 'Modi effect'

New Delhi, March 19 (ANI): Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Mulayam Singh Yadav will contest Lok Sabha polls from Azamgarh parliamentary seat along with his traditional Mainpuri seat. The move to field Mulayam from Azamgarh, a constituency dominated by Yadavs and Muslims which is near to Varanasi, is seen as an attempt to counter the BJP. It is said that by fielding Mulayam from Azamgarh, the party hopes it would have a cascading effect on other constituencies and would prevent the BJP from capitalizing on the "Modi effect." Gumla, Mar 19 (ANI): Police have arrested two Maoists working for rebel outfit People’s Liberation Front of India (PLFI) in Maoist affected Gumla district of Jharkhand. Acting on a tip off, police arrested the two Maoists from two different locations. Two pistols and three bullets were recovered from the rebels. Tuti said the two were planning to execute a crime, and the residents of the area helped in getting them arrested.
