New Delhi, March 19 (ANI): A candidate of the Aam Aadmi Party Mahender Singh, who was going to contest for the upcoming general elections, withdrew his name and accused party colleague and former Delhi minister Rakhi Birla of demanding money from him. Reportedly, another AAP candidate Khalid Pervez, who had received a party ticket for Moradabad seat from Uttar Pradesh, also withdrew his name. Meanwhile, BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra, blamed the party's greed for power behind the withdrawal of candidatures. BSE closes points 2.08 up on March 19

New Delhi, March 19 (ANI): Trading at the Bombay Stock Exchange today closed 2.08 points up to stand at 21,834.69. At the National Stock Exchange the Nifty closed 7.40 points up to stand at 6,524.05. Petronet LNG and TV18 Broadcast were among the top gainers of Group A with an increase of 5.44% and 4.55% along with Tata Steel and Hindalco Industries with an increase of 4.48% and 4.27% respectively, while the top losers of Group A include TCS and Indian Oil Corp with a decrease of 3.94% and 3.48% along with ONGC and Rural Electrification Corporation Ltd with a decrease of 3.00% and 2.94% at the close of the markets. The Auto sector is up 5.35 points at 12,791.32 while the banking sector is up 82.85 points at 13,913.66 and the realty sector is down 6.29 points at 1,374.24. Uddhav Thackeray expresses desire to form government in New Delhi

Mumbai, March 19 (ANI): At a news conference in Mumbai on Wednesday Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray, expressed his wish to form a government in New Delhi. It was speculated that in its effort to ensure victory in the upcoming parliamentary elections, the BJP looked to forge an alliance with the Maharashtra Nirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray. However, the move irked Shiv Sena which considers MNS as major rival party in Maharashtra. Uddhav Thackeray said that the party wants to form a government in Delhi and the party would not tolerate any obstacle. Kolkata /Bangalore, March 19 (ANI): Contesting candidates are holding campaigns and filing their nominations, as India prepares to hold world’s biggest general elections, starting in less than a month. In a bid to support Trinamool Congress (TMC), leader Sudip Bandyopadhyay, marched onto the streets of Kolkata with the party workers on Wednesday. Bandyopadhyay expressed confidence over his party TMC and said that the wave in the West Bengal is in favour of state chief Mamata Banerjee.
