Rajnath Singh demands upgraded security for Modi post suicide bomber threat

Lucknow, Mar 27 (ANI): BJP President Rajnath Singh expressed concern over possible attack on BJP’s Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi, after Intelligence Bureau issued alert of suicide bomber threat. Reportedly, as per the high alert, the attack may be on the lines of assassination of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi. The IB reports also stated that Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi, won’t be shot at, but it is likely that a suicide bomber disguised as a supporter may target him. The agencies also suspect that the attack may take place in Modi’s own constituencies of Varanasi or Vadodara.

Maoists trigger landmine blast in Odisha, injure two personnel

Malkangiri, Mar 29 (ANI): Two personnel of India's paramilitary, Border Security Force (BSF), were injured when Maoists triggered a landmine blast in Malkangiri district of Odisha province on Friday. Deputy Superintendent of Police, Pramod Kumar Bagh, said the explosive went off when the BSF personnel were conducting a search after removing Maoist posters in the mountainous area. The injured were airlifted to Malkangiri district hospital. The BSF has launched a combing operation to nab the ultras.

Congress' Imran Masood arrested for threatening Narendra Modi

Saharanpur, Mar 29 (ANI): The Uttar Pradesh police on Saturday arrested the leader and candidate of ruling Congress party, Imran Masood, who openly threatened to hack BJP's PM candidate Narendra Modi to pieces. A criminal case was registered against him on March 28 after a video of him threatening Modi went viral on the web. An FIR accused Masood, of violating the election code of conduct. Earlier, BJP spokesperson, Meenakshi Lekhi had vouched that the party will see to it that Masood's candidature is cancelled.

Decision to induct Sabir Ali in BJP must be reversed: Balbir Punj

New Delhi, Mar 29 (ANI): The BJP faced another crisis of sorts within its ranks when senior party leader Balbir Punj also opposed the induction of expelled Janata Dal-United (JD-U) leader Sabir Ali into the party. Earlier on Friday, BJP vice-president Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi had also demanded de-induction on grounds that he has been named as one of the alleged accused in the murder of music mogul Gulshan Kumar and was a friend of Indian Mujahideen Chief Yasin Bhatkal.

Pakistan/ Netherlands, Mar 29 (ANI): Pakistan sees accusations made by Indian prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi about the neighboring country, as part of an election issue in India, Pakistan's Foreign Office has said. Responding to a question regarding Modi's statement that Pakistan-backed terrorists carried out activities in Kashmir including the one in September 2013 in which several soldiers and civilians were killed, Foreign Office spokeswoman Tasnim Aslam shrugged off the allegations as an election gimmick.

"I would be doing the film with Sujoy. I am excited about it. It is a suspense thriller and beyond this I cannot reveal anything," she said. New Delhi, Mar 29 (ANI): Bollywood babe Katrina Kaif has rubbished rumours of a marriage next year with actor Ranbir Kapoor. There were rumours that Kat and Ranbir were likely to tie the knot in 2015. However she dismissed such reports saying there were no such plans as of now. "I don't know about this, it has come in media today. It is news to me as I got to know when someone sent me a message about this, till then I was not aware about it," she told. "But there is no such thing. If there is something like that happening, I will be the first one to tell you all about it. But, there are no such plans as yet," she added.
