Malkangiri, Dec 02 (ANI): Two women Maoists surrendered before the police in Odisha alleging harassment and torture by their seniors, said Deputy Superintendent of Police, Pramod Kumar Das. According to Das, the two women had joined the rebel outfit in 2012, and they had been imparted training for handling different weapons. The two were also engaged in various programmes and cultural activities as part of their strategy to woo the youths of the area. Guntakal, Dec 02 (ANI): In a shocking incident, police in Guntakal town of Andhra Pradesh allegedly thrashed four accused suspects arrested for murder in full public view. The police led by Deputy Superintendent of Police E Supraja, reportedly took the suspects to a crowded bus depot of the town, which was apparently the crime spot and beat them mercilessly. Anand, Dec 02 (ANI): A road accident killed seven people and injured several others after a vehicle carrying labourers collided with a truck in Gujarat on Monday. The accident took place when a truck collided with the vehicle on the Tarapur-Wataman highway in Anand district. The victims who were tribals belonged to Madhya Pradesh and had come to Gujarat in search of work. The injured were immediately admitted to a nearby hospital.
