While the city of Mumbai is currently excluded from the cut by virtue of not being covered by the state power distribution Mahavitaran- Reliance Infra, Tata Power and BEST supply power to the city - sources say an announcement for the state capital can be expected soon as well. The state cabinet accepted the recommendations of a high-powered committee led by Narayan Rane, which suggested a 20 percent power subsidy for users for a 10-month period till the state elections in October.
