Meerut/ Muzaffarnagar/ Lucknow, Dec 02 (ANI): Agitated farmers blocked roads in various sugarcane producing districts of Uttar Pradesh demanding re-functioning of sugar mills and clearance of farmers' dues, thereby disrupting normal life. Farmers blocked key routes, including the national highway, after a cane farmer committed suicide that led to violent protest. General Secretary of Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD), Jayant Chaudhary claimed that the agitation was a success. Farmers in Muzaffarnagar too staged protest against sugarcane mill owners for not purchasing the produce at a price fixed by the provincial government. Dec 2, 2013
