2014 LS Polls: BJP leads in early trends of counting, Congress doesnt loose hope

New Delhi, May 16 (ANI): As the early trends in counting gives an indication of BJP leading way ahead than Congress, the later doesn’t loose hope. BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad and Vice President Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said that the trends show that the exit polls are proving to be right and that BJP will come to power with majority. Meanwhile, Congress leader Shobha Oza and Akhilesh Pratap Singh remained affirmative and said that trends and results are two different things and that Congress will come out victorious.

Police busted militant hideout in Kashmir, recover arms & ammunition

Rajouri, May 16 (ANI): Police busted a militant hideout in former militant hotbed of Rajouri district in Kashmir and recovered huge cache of arms and ammunition. The army and police launched a joint search operation in Kandi located near Kankali forest in Rajouri and recovered a consignment of arms, ammunition and explosive from the hideout. While interacting with mediapersons, the Station House Officer (SHO) of Kandi, AM Malik elaborated about the weapons recovered. Kashmir has a chequered history where a two-decade long insurgency affected the normal functioning of the administration.

Germany holds Indian traders responsible for failing to achieve trade target of 2013

Kolkata, May 16 (ANI): Germany holds Indian decision makers’ hibernation mode responsible for both the countries failing to achieve their unofficial target of over all turn over of trade of 20 billion Euros in 2013. While addressing the Indo German business conclave in Kolkata, German consul-general Rainer Schmiedchen said that due to elections in India both the countries could not achieve their trade targets. The discussions in the conclave focused on German Technology, Tools and Processes and how Indian companies can be benefited out of the same. The Germans also expressed their keen interest in investing in eastern India.

India's first amputee trekker climbs Kilimanjaro, after scaling Mount Everest

New Delhi, May 16 (ANI): India's first woman amputee conquered Mount Kilimanjaro after scaling the Mount Everest. Arunima Sinha, the national level volleyball player, the girl who lost a leg in battling snatchers had earlier climbed the world's highest mountain peak, Mount Everest on May 21, 2013 with a prosthetic leg. While addressing a news conference on Thursday (May 15) in New Delhi, Sinha said that the disability is all in the mind. Sinha said her family has been her backbone which has given her moral support and has encouraged her to follow her dreams of climbing the world's highest summit. The Seven Summits which have been climbed by few are composed of each of the highest mountain peaks of each of the seven continents and these are Kilimanjaro, Denali, Elbrus, Aconcagua, Carstensz Pyramid, Vinson and Mount Everest.

RBI, finance ministry talk contingency plan for May 16

Shimla, May 16 (ANI): RBI Chief Raghuram Rajan has stated that it is prepared to deal with any excessive volatility from election results to be unveiled on Friday. The RBI will also be ready to deal with any volatility in the rupee, Rajan said this during a news briefing in Shimla after discussing the contingency plans with the finance ministry and the stock market regulator. On inflation, Rajan said food prices were still a concern.

Political leaders remain affirmative as counting begins

Lucknow/New Delhi, May 16 (ANI): Political leaders from different political parties remained affirmative for a possible win as the counting for the results of 2014 general elections begin. BJP leader Siddharth Nath Singh said that whatever the country has lost for the last 10 years will be gained back by BJP and good days will follow.
