New Delhi, July 11 (ANI): The Lok Sabha on Friday passed the Andhra Pradesh Reorganization (Amendment) Bill 2014 amid protests from members of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) and others. Home Minister Rajnath Singh introduced the Bill with its component on the Polavaram project amidst uproar. Despite protests by opposition members, the bill was adopted and passed. US Deputy Secretary of State meets PM Narendra Modi over diplomatic ties

New Delhi, July 11 (ANI): US Deputy Secretary of State, William J Burns, met with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday in New Delhi to strengthen diplomatic ties. Earlier, Burns had met Finance Minister Arun Jaitley and said that Barack Obama looks forward to Indian PM Modi’s visit to the White House in September for a spur in economic growth. Burns arrived in India ahead of the US-India Strategic Dialogue as US Secretary of State John Kerry is scheduled to visit India on July 31. Reactions come in as BJP issues whip to its MPs to support TRAI Bill in LS

New Delhi, July 11 (ANI): The TRAI Amendment Act to be presented in Lok Sabha has invited political reactions. After reports of Congress opposing the bill in Parliament, BJP had issued a whip to all its MPs to be present when the government will present the bill. Telecom Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said that the bill is being presented on the basis of merit and hoped that it would be passed in both houses. BJP leader Rajiv Pratap Rudy said that it was an amendment which needed to be modified every six months and added that the government needed to change laws.
