New Delhi, Aug 03 (ANI): Indian wrestler Rajiv Tomar on Sunday said that the arrest of Indian sports officials in Glasgow will bring disgrace to the country and spoil the winner image. Rajeev Mehta, secretary general of the Indian Olympic Association and a senior member of the Indian contingent at the Commonwealth Games, and wrestling referee Virender Singh Malik, were arrested in Glasgow on Saturday evening, evoking shock and shame among athletes and sports lovers. The two were in custody over the weekend and will be produced in a Glasgow court on Monday. Guwahati, Aug 3 (ANI): Seventeen people, including two children, died due to Japanese Encephalitis in Assam and 14 patients more were being diagnosed for the brain fever. Almost 570 people in India have died after contracting encephalitis, commonly known as "brain fever", health authorities said, warning the death toll may rise with more people still at risk. Outbreaks of Acute Encephalitis Syndrome and Japanese Encephalitis are common every year in India, especially during the monsoon season, and claim hundreds of lives. But this year, major outbreaks - usually most prevalent in the northern states of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar - have spread to regions such as West Bengal and Assam.
