New Delhi, 17 Oct (ANI): The two major smartphones of 2014 are out and now we know how the specifications look like for the iPhone 6 Plus and the Galaxy Note 4. So which phone takes the best shot? Let's take a look Galaxy Note 4 has a 5.7-inch screen with a Quad HD Super AMOLED display wherein iPhone 6 Plus, the screen size is 5.5-inches. Clearly the Note 4 is ahead where the number of pixels goes.iPhone 6 Plus has an A8 chip which supports 64-bit architecture and comes with the M8 motion co-processor with memory space of 16 GB, 64 GB and 128 GB in comparison to Samsung galaxy Note 4 which has 2.7GHz Quad Core Processor and internal 32GB memory expandable to 64 GB.Camera resolution is higher for Galaxy Note 4 at 16 megapixels with OIS. Congress stage protest against state govt over rise in dengue cases in Madhya Pradesh

Bhopal, Oct 17 (ANI): Workers of Congress party on Friday protested against the government of Madhya Pradesh for they say it has failed to curb the rising cases of dengue in the state. Reportedly, central city of Bhopal is in the grip of the worst dengue outbreak it has seen in the last five years. The total dengue cases reported in Bhopal is 343 of which 23 cases were registered on Thursday. The six major cases are from Kolar area. The District President of Congress party, PC Sharma said they demand immediate treatment for the patients. The state health ministry has instructed the nursing homes to test the platelet counts and people with below 10,000 should be provided quick aid.

Three accused arrested in Gurgaon north-east student assault case

Gurgaon, Oct 17 (ANI): Three accused in the Gurgaon north-east student assault case were arrested by the Gurgaon Police on Friday. Gurgaon east DCP Nazneen Bhasin said that the police was able to arrest the accused in a very short span of time. She added that the accused were inebriated and violent and ethnic racial element was there in the attack. Three north-eastern youths were allegedly beaten up on Thursday by local goons in Sikandarpur village of Gurgaon. The goons tried to force the youth into drinking alcohol after refusing which they were badly beaten up.

NSG defuses explosives found in Burdwan district of West Bengal

Burdwan, Oct 17 (ANI): Commandos of National Security Guard (NSG) defused over 40 hand grenades and bombs that were found in Burdwan district of West Bengal on Friday. A joint team of the NSG and the National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Thursday recovered the ammunition in large quantities from a house in the district. Apart from grenades, the team recovered five socket bombs also from the house of one Rizwan Sheikh. This recovery comes after two suspected militants were killed and another was injured in the explosion which occurred on October 02 at a house in Khagragarh area of the district. The involvement of militant outfits like Lashkar-e-Toiba and Harkat-ul Jihad al-Islami are being suspected in the blast. Meanwhile, in another such incident, around 100 crude bombs were detected and diffused in Kaliachak block of Malda by CID Bomb Squad members.

India successfully test fires nuclear cruise missile 'Nirbhay'

New Delhi/ Chandipur, Oct 17 (ANI): India on Friday successfully test fired the indigenously developed nuclear capable sub-sonic cruise missile 'Nirbhay' at the Integrated Missile Test Range near Balasore in Odisha. Proving a host of technologies and bridging the critical gap in the country's arsenal, the missile was test fired from the Integrated Test Range at Chandipur for a distance of about 1,000 km. Cruise missile 'Nirbhay' can strike targets more than 700 kms away. This was the second test firing attempt. The missile had failed in its debut attempt which was made last year. Security Expert US Rathore said that the test fire of the cruise missile 'Nirbhay' was very important for India. Cruise missile 'Nirbhay' has good loitering capability, good control and guidance and high degree of accuracy.

Dhaula Kuan gang-rape case: Court reserves quantum of sentence till Monday

New Delhi, Oct 17 (ANI): In the Dhaula Kuan abduction and gang-rape case, a Delhi court on Friday set October 20 to give its sentence to five men who had been found guilty of abducting and gang-raping a call centre employee in Delhi in 2010. BSE closes points 109.19 up on Oct 17

New Delhi, Oct 17 (ANI): Trading at the Bombay Stock Exchange today closed 109.19 points up to stand at 26,108.53. At the National Stock Exchange the Nifty closed 31.50 points up to stand at 7,779.70. EMAMI LTD and ANDHRA BANK were among the top gainers of Group A with an increase of 6.96% and 6.04% along with Edelweiss Financial Services Ltd and NCC with an increase of 5.71% and 5.29% respectively, while the top losers of Group A include CMC and ATUL with a decrease of 15.07% and 11.02% along with HCLTECH and TCS with a decrease of 9.06% and 8.93% at the close of the markets. The Auto sector is up 120.30 points at 17,021.25 while the banking sector is up 437.47 points at 18,240.22 and the reality sector is up 13.60 points at 1,429.64.The Indian currency is up 0.49% at Rs 61.53 per dollar.

Black Money case: Congress targets Modi govt for its reluctance to disclose names

New Delhi, Oct 17 (ANI): The Congress on Friday targeted the Narendra Modi government for its double standards on Black money case. Citing bilateral double taxation avoidance treaties, the Centre today filed an application in the Supreme Court saying it cannot disclose the details of foreign accounts held abroad by Indians. The issue of black money has reverberated in public space for a very long time. The BJP when in the opposition repeatedly exchanged fire with the Congress for its inability to bring back black money stashed away in various tax havens, specially in Swiss banks. India becoming safe haven for militants, says Bangladeshi activist

Dhaka, Oct 17 (ANI): Bangladeshi human rights activist and journalist Shahriar Kabir said that India is turning into a safe haven for militant groups, especially Jamaat-e-Islami. Kabir was speaking at a seminar on international terrorism organised by the Forum for Secular Bangladesh and Trail of the War Criminals in Dhaka. The speakers expressed concern about the recent militancy activities by Jamaat-e-Islami in India with reference to the bomb blast in Burdwan district in West Bengal during the festival of Durga Puja on October 02. The speakers urged that government of India and Bangladesh should take strict actions to prevent such militancy activities in both the nations and they also rooted for a task force to be made along with other regional countries of South Asia. The TMC leaders had blamed the Central government for the Burdwan blast saying the intrusion of members of extremist groups into the state led to the incident.
