Politicos react after Ram Madhav, says doors open for separatists

New Delhi, Nov 15 (ANI): Politicos reacted on Saturday after BJP leader Ram Madhav appealed to the separatists in Jammu and Kashmir to join the political mainstream and said that doors are open even for them. BJP leader Subramanian Swamy said that it would be better if Kashmiri separatists come and join politics. Congress leader Abhishek Manu Singhvi said that the idea of bringing separatists in politics is not new. CPI leader D Raja also expressed similar sentiments.

New Delhi, Nov 15 (ANI): Politicos reacted on Saturday after BSF reports claimed that Chinese are giving arms training to Pakistan soldiers. Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Kiren Rijijus said that this activity of China supporting Pakistan in the areas of Pok is unacceptable. BJP leader Subramanian Swamy said that if such things take place India should take it up to China. Congress leader Abhishek Manu Singhvi said that India should stop looking at photo opportunities with the Chinese PM.

India needs to take serious note of developments between Pakistan and China: Security Experts

New Delhi, Nov 15 (ANI): After BSF raised the issue of Chinese troops imparting weapons training to Pakistan forces, Security Experts on Saturday said that India needs to take serious note of developments between Pakistan and China. BSF has told National Security Advisor that Chinese troops have been spotted imparting arms training to Pakistan Army on Pakistani forward locations on the border opposite the Rajouri sector in Jammu and Kashmir. Security Experts Uday Bhaskar and Kamal Mitra Chenoy expressed concern in the issue and said that such developing relations between the two countries can prove fatal for India. Chenoy also said that India should take support of other nations in this regard and join hands together against any untoward development.

Cabinet Ministers slam Chidambaram's remark on AFSPA

New Delhi/ Srinagar, Nov 15 (ANI): Cabinet ministers on Saturday slammed Former Finance Minister P Chidambaram's remark on AFSPA in which he called it an 'obnoxious law'. Minister of State in Ministry of Home Affairs, Kiren Rijiju said that Chidambaram should not take advantage of elections in Jammu and Kashmir and make instigating statements regarding laws. Minister of State in Ministry of External Affairs, Gen (Retd) VK Singh said that AFSPA is a law under Indian Constitution and does not give unlimited power to the Army. Referring to the Machil case, he added that whenever army makes any mistake it is quick to give punishment.

Activists stage theatre in Dharamsala to urge G-20 leaders to unite for Tibet

Dharamsala, Nov 15 (ANI): Members of a Tibetan non-governmental organisation in exile, Students for a free Tibet-India, performed a political theatre in Dharamsala to urge the world leaders to come together to raise the issue of Tibet at the ongoing G-20 Leaders' Summit in Australia. The activists wore masks of various political leaders during their acts and also held banners. Many Tibetan supporters carried out similar acts across the world. A cycle rally was also carried out across University of Delhi to gather support for this new approach to talk about a solution to the Tibet problem. George further added if countries like US, Canada, Australia, France, Germany and India come together it will create a power to get China into talks over Tibet.

Sareshwala lauds PM Modi for raising black money issue ahead of G-20 Summit

Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott welcomes G-20 leaders

Brisbane, Nov 15 (ANI): Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott on Saturday welcomed all the G-20 leaders as the summit commenced in Brisbane, Australia. Abbott met each leader and shook hands with them as they arrived at the venue for the Summit. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi too was welcomed by the Australian PM after 28 years as Modi greeted him with a warm hug. Modi also had a laughter session with his Australian counterpart as he was welcomed by Abbott at the two day G-20 Summit. This followed a cultural program in welcome of the top leadership. Earlier, Modi had a meeting with the world leaders where he said that repatriation of unaccounted money abroad is a key priority for India.

Forest officials rescue leopard in Gujarat

Junagarh, Nov 15 (ANI): Forest officials recued a leopard in Gujarat after it strayed into a village. Forest officials immediately rushed to Kotanda village in Junagarh district after farmers spot it hiding in a granary. The forest officials captured the wild animal after administering tranquiliser and took it to an animal centre. Instances of wild animals like lions, leopards and tigers straying into residential areas are not a new thing in India.

PM Narendra Modi meets French President Francois Hollande in Brisbane

Brisbane, Nov 15 (ANI): Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday met French President Francois Hollande for bilateral talks at the G20 Leaders' Summit in Brisbane, Australia. The G20 summit in Brisbane is focused on boosting world growth, fireproofing the global banking system and closing tax loopholes for giant multinationals. Earlier this year, France had proposed to give India a 1 billion euro ($1.4 billion) credit line to fund sustainable infrastructure and urban development projects. The credit line would be available over three years and would be delivered through the French Development Agency, French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius had said on his visit to New Delhi in July. Fabius had said Paris was keen to share technology and industrial development with India in the defence sector.

It Happens : Book Fair

Jaipur, Nov 14 (ANI): The National Book Fair attracted many avid readers in India's pink city of Jaipur. Visitors thronged the six-day fair, which started, in large numbers and scanned through a plethora of books. According to the retailers, the demand of books by foreign authors surged at the fair and they sold around 60 to 70 percent foreign books. They also said that due to internet and kindle, people preferred e-books more nowadays. Over 160 stalls were set up in which 117 publications took part. Meanwhile, researchers and students preferred books of English writers due to more information and details. Readers said that in this internet age also, many of them preferred paperback or hard bound books. The National Book Fair is considered as the best platform where books in all formats are available. Also the fair raises the possibilities for interaction among the readers, authors, publishers, book-sellers, distributors, librarian and book-lovers.
