Malkangiri, Oct 03 (ANI): Two rebels working for Communist Party of India-Maoists surrendered before paramilitary Border Security Force (BSF) in Odisha on Friday. It is an achievement for BSF which has been trying to tackle the Maoist insurgency in Malkangiri district of Odisha. The Maoists, who have been identified as Laxman Pujari and Chaitanya Harijan, surrendered before BSF Deputy Inspector General, KV Raghavacharyulu, at a surrender ceremony at the BSF sector headquarters. Pak says India inflexible on Siachen, Indian Experts react

New Delhi, Oct 03 (ANI): Pakistan foreign ministry's remark that India has never responded positively on proposals regarding demilitarisation of Siachen in Jammu and Kashmir was slammed by the Indian Experts on Friday. While addressing a briefing in Islamabad, Pakistan's foreign ministry spokesperson Tasnim Aslam had said a proposal to demilitarise Siachen and declare it as a Peace Park had cropped up during bilateral discussions in the past, but Indian policy towards resolution of this issue always remained inflexible. Poonch, Oct 03 (ANI): Some civilians sustained injuries while some lost their houses as Pakistani Rangers violated ceasefire and resorted to unprovoked firing on the Indian positions along the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir on Friday. The entire Gagrian village in the Poonch sector was affected in the firing. According to the villagers of Gagrian, the firing continued till midnight and almost all civilians stayed awake all night. The injured were taken to the hospital immediately. Ahmed said the entire locality got strong tremors as bombs started falling on the village. Two militants of Hizbul Mujahideen killed in J and K encounter

Pulwama, Oct 03 (ANI): Two militants of separatist outfit Hizbul Mujahideen were killed in an encounter with security forces in Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir on Friday. Reportedly, the security forces got information about the presence of these militants and acted upon it. The militants opened fire while the forces were closing in on the hideout of these militants. Of the two militants killed, one has been identified as Riyaz Naikoo while the other is said to be a top militant of the outfit. Hizbul Mujahideen is a Kashmiri separatist group designated as a militant organisation by India. It is active in Jammu and Kashmir since 1989.
