MS Dhir joins BJP, says others from AAP should do the same

New Delhi, Nov 21 (ANI): In a big jolt to AAP Chief Arvind Kejriwal before Delhi assembly polls, MS Dhir on Friday joined BJP. Delhi BJP President Satish Upadhyay welcomed Dhir to the party at an event. MS Dhir said that he had no word with the AAP leaders till now but if they contact, he will advice them to join the ruling BJP too. Police seize 785 kilograms of marijuana in Maharashtra

Chaklamba, Nov 21 (ANI): Police seized about 785 kilograms of marijuana in Maharashtra. The seizure took place in Chaklamba village in Beed district of Maharashtra. The police were informed about the marijuana by locals. They first sent a team to confirm the news and finally busted the operation. Investigating officer, Dilip Tejankar said that there were three farmers from the same family who were growing marijuana along with cotton crops. 16 Maoists surrender in Chhattisgarh

Bastar, Nov 21 (ANI): Sixteen Maoists belonging to Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-M) surrendered in Bastar region of Chhattisgarh. The 16 Maoists, including a woman, had a bounty of Rupees One Lakh on their heads. Inspector General (IG), Bastar, SRP Kalluri said that in the last five months there has been an increase in surrenders by the Maoists. During the ceremony, the Maoists were given monetary encouragement of Rupees 5,000. Kalluri also said that due to the increasing number of surrenders, the casualties had also come down. All the Maoists who surrendered alleged that they were subjected to exploitation and they lived under a constant threat. All of them agreed in unison that Maoism should be uprooted in Bastar. Erbil, Nov 21 (ANI): Addressing a peace conference in Erbil city, Indian spiritual leader Sri Sri Ravi Shankar called for peace in Iraq and said communication needs to be established with those who are misguided in the name of religion. Ravi Shankar on Wednesday stepped up relief work for Yazidi refugees trapped in Erbil town of northern Iraq, following an insurgency by Islamic State militants. The International Association for Human Values (IAHV), a sister concern of Sri Sri Ravi Shankar's 'Art of Living,' has teamed up with local non-governmental organisations (NGOs) in Iraq for relief operations. Ravi Shankar said those misguided by religion need to be educated. Ravi Shankar said India, too, had been under attack by aggressors but its faith in non-violence has remained intact.
