Acute power crisis affects daily life in Kashmir

Poonch, Feb 08 (ANI): Acute shortage of power in Jammu and Kashmir has affected the daily life and businesses of the residents. The residents, who are still grappling with the aftermaths of the floods that wreaked havoc in the state last September, are now struggling with erratic power supply. Presently the power supply is only for as much as four to five hours in a day. Jammu and Kashmir is under governor’s rule after none of the parties was able to cobble up a government after assembly elections in December last year. Businessmen are also suffering as the power crisis is hampering their work. Power crisis is also leaving people bitterly cold in the valley which is receiving snowfall and has temperatures hovering around 2.0 degrees Celsius, five notches below the normal. Feb 8, 2015

She said that people should wait for results to be announced on 10th February. Asked if she will take responsibility of BJP’s defeat in the national capital, Bedi said that she is the person who always takes responsibility. LJP Chief Ram Vilas Paswan on Bihar's political crisis

Patna, Feb 8 (ANI): Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) chief and Union Minister Ram Vilas Paswan on Sunday reacted on the ongoing political tussle in Bihar. Paswan said that the JD (U) had made Manjhi a chief minister sans any power and therefore his rebellion was justified. Nitish, who was elected as the leader of JD (U) legislature party at a party meeting held in Patna yesterday, is expected to stake claim to form a new government in the state soon. On Saturday evening, Manjhi called a meeting of the state cabinet, which authorized the Chief Minister to recommend the dissolution of Bihar Assembly. But this move was strongly opposed by 20 ministers loyal to former CM Nitish Kumar. Manjhi claimed he is authorized to take a decision on dissolution of the assembly. New Delhi, Feb 8 (ANI): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Subramanian Swamy on Sunday alleged that Sunanda Pushkar's murder was carried out by men hired from Dubai and Pakistan, and added that former union minister and Congress leader Shashi Tharoor should undergo custodial interrogation in this case. Pushkar, who married Tharoor in 2010, had checked into The Leela Hotel in Chanakyapuri a day before her death on January 17, 2014. Tharoor's aides said the couple had checked into the luxury hotel because of renovation work at his New Delhi bungalow. Prior to her death, Sunanda was embroiled in a spat with Pakistani journalist Mehr Tarar, whom she accused of stalking her husband. Feb 8, 2015

He said that the opening comments were in context of governing model and that the PM said that priorities are growth, investment, jobs and decentralization. He also said that Modi emphasized that economic activities should be in the states and there should be flexibility of states. Imphal: Three BSF jawans injured in twin IED blasts

Imphal, Feb 08 (ANI): Three Border Security Force (BSF) jawans including one Sub-Inspector and two constables were injured in twin IED blasts that took place at Napetpali village in Imphal. The injured were rushed to the RIMS Emergency Service for medical aid. After the explosion, the security forces, BSF, Assam Rifles and State Police Commando team investigated the locality and nabbed six suspected youths from the area for further verification. The second edition of the three-kilometer marathon drew several known personalities, including the head of youth wing of regional political party, Yuva Sena, Aditya Thackeray, Bollywood actor Shreyas Talpade and businessman Ness Wadia.
