Uttarakhand CM discusses state issues with NITI Aayog members, satisfied with responses

New Delhi, Feb 08 (ANI): After meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other members of the NITI Aayog, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Harish Rawat on Sunday said that he discussed state issues with the Aayog. He said that he was satisfied with the positive response he got from the members and that he hoped for all the help from the centre for the development of the state. He also said that he asked for the same consideration for Uttarakhand as for the north east. Rawat also said that the state government do not have funds and have asked for all assistance from the central government.

JD (U) & RJD meet Bihar governor over state political crisis, says Manjhi did all this on orders of

Patna, Feb 08 (ANI): JD (U) and RJD leaders on Sunday met Bihar governor Keshari Nath Tripathi over political crisis facing the state today. The parties appealed the governor to sack Jitan Ram Manjhi as he lacks majority and appoint Nitish Kumar as the new chief minister. Bihar JD (U) President Bashishtha Narayan Singh sai dtaht Manjhi is doing all this on order of BJP. Meanwhile, RJD leader Abdul Bari Siddiqui, who also met state governor, said that the party asked the governor to dissolve the assembly as soon as possible.

Imphal: Three BSF jawans injured in twin IED blasts

Imphal, Feb 08 (ANI): Three Border Security Force (BSF) jawans including one Sub-Inspector and two constables were injured in twin IED blasts that took place at Napetpali village in Imphal. The injured were rushed to the RIMS Emergency Service for medical aid. After the explosion, the security forces, BSF, Assam Rifles and State Police Commando team investigated the locality and nabbed six suspected youths from the area for further verification. As of now, no terror outfit has claimed responsibility for the blasts.

Mumbai hosts fund-raising marathon to spread awareness about cardiac diseases

Mumbai, Feb 8 (ANI): Hundreds of children took part in a fund-raising marathon in Mumbai on Sunday spread awareness about cardiac diseases. ‘Little Hearts Marathon’ is an initiative of ‘Bai Jerabai Wadia Hospital for Children’ in Mumbai to raise funds for poor children unable to meet the exorbitant hospital expenses. The second edition of the three-kilometer marathon drew several known personalities, including the head of youth wing of regional political party, Yuva Sena, Aditya Thackeray, Bollywood actor Shreyas Talpade and businessman Ness Wadia. Students of various schools performed physical and gymnastic activities sending across the message of a healthy lifestyle.

The president while addressing the delegates said that for the first time on day of swearing-in of the new Ministry by President, Prime Minster Narendra Modi decided he would invite all heads of state in SAARC countries. Mukherjee added that with this, subsequent series of initiatives had been taken till then. He added that the institutional arrangements of converting the globe into a global village have been initiated and those days are gone when balance of power was the most important element in foreign policies of the countries.

PM Modi chairs first meeting of newly created NITI Ayog in Delhi

New Delhi, Feb 8 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Sunday (February 08) chaired the first meeting of the governing council of National Institution for Transforming India (NITI) in New Delhi. The formation of the forum was announced on August 15, 2014 by Modi during his maiden Independence Day address from the ramparts of the historic Red Fort. Modi has accused 65-year-old Planning Commission of stifling growth with Soviet-style bureaucracy.
