India's mixed badminton team put up a commanding show to clinch its maiden gold medal, defeating three-time defending champions Malaysia 3-1 in the final of the event at the 21st Commonwealth Games (CWG) here on Monday. Kidambi Srikanth, Saina Nehwal and the mixed doubles pair of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Ashwini Ponnappa all won a match each to guide India power past Lee Chong Wei-spearheaded Malaysia which was winning gold since the 2006 CWG.

India clinched a historic gold in men's table tennis, thrashing Nigeria 3-0 in the final of the event at the 21st Commonwealth Games here on Monday. After beating Singapore in the semi-finals earlier on Monday, the Indian team continued their dominance in the final, by winning all the first three matches to comfortably clinch the gold. Seasoned paddler Achanta Sharath Kamal gave India an early 1-0 lead with a thumping 4-11, 11-5, 11-4, 11-9 comeback win over Bode Abiodun in the first singles match of the contest.

India's star shooter Jitu Rai won gold with a masterful performance in the men's 10m Air Pistol event at the 21st Commonwealth Games here on Monday. Jitu created a new CWG record of 235.1 in the final to win the gold. Kerry Bell of Australia took silver with 233.5.

Indian weightlifter Pardeep Singh took silver in the men's 105 kilogram category at the 21st Commonwealth Games (CWG) here on Monday. Pardeep lifted 152 kg in snatch and 200 kg in clean and jerk to register a total of 352 kg. Sanele Mao of Samoa won gold with a total of 360 kg. He lifted 154 kg in snatch and 206 kg in clean and jerk.
