Replying to India's second innings score of 352/8 declared, the visitors were reeling at 75/7 chasing 231, when umpires Nigel Llong and Joel Wilson decided there was not enough light to continue the game. There were still 5.3 overs to be bowled before the mandatory overs could begin. Kohli led from the front on the final day with an unbeaten 104 off 119 balls that included 12 fours and two sixes to help India take a 230 run lead after initial jitters.

For the hosts, in-form top order batsman Chesteshwar Pujara top-scored with 52 while Wriddhiman Saha contributed 29 as fast bowler Suranga Lakmal returned best figures of 4-26 for the tourists. Resuming at 74/5, Saha (6) and Pujara (47) could manage only a 29-run stand for the sixth wicket before the latter was castled by Gamage (2-59). Pujara completed his 16th half century while Saha then stitched together a 48-run partnership with Ravindra Jadeja before the all-rounder was fell lbw off Dilruwan Perera (2-19).

The Kiwis, who had lost the first match by 53 runs in New Delhi, have now levelled the three-match series at 1-1. Opting to bat first on winning the toss, the visitors rode on an unbeaten quickfire century by opener Colin Munro to post 196/2 in their allotted 20 overs. Munro batted through the innings, smashing 109 runs off 58 deliveries. This is his second century in 34 T20Is. He also became the fourth batsman to score two centuries in T20Is. In reply, the hosts could only manage to post 156/7.

Veteran pacer Ashish Nehra could not have asked for a better send-off as India thrashed New Zealand by 53 runs at the Ferozshah Kotla here on Wednesday to bring up their maiden win against the Kiwis in T20 Internationals. India's opening duo of Shikhar Dhawan (80 from 52 balls) and Rohit Sharma (80 from 55 balls) blasted identical half tons to set the tone with a 158-run record opening stand and guide the hosts post a massive 202/3.

Chasing a daunting target of 338 runs, the Kiwis could only manage 331/7 in their allotted 50 overs. Colin Munro (75), skipper Kane Williamson (64) and Tom Latham (65) were the major contributors for New Zealand. For India, pacer Jasprit Bumrah scalped three wickets and leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal took two. India have clinched the three-match ODI series 2-1. The visitors had won the series opener in Mumbai by six wickets before the Indians won the second match by the same margin in Pune to draw level. India captain Virat Kohli was declared the man of the series for scoring 263 runs in the three matches. He has notched up two centuries in this series. This was the first day-night match at this venue. The Kiwis were off to a flying start with openers Martin Guptill and Munro going after the Indian bowlers.

A good batting display helped India beat New Zealand by six wickets in the second One Day International at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium here on Wednesday. With this result, India equalised the three match ODI series. In the first match, India were defeated by the visitors by six wickets in Mumbai. India's Shikhar Dhawan (68), Dinesh Karthik (64 not out) scored handsomely for the cause. It was a bad start for India as opener Rohit Sharma (7) departed with just 22 runs on the board. The right-hand batsman was dismissed by pacer Tim Southee in the fifth over. But Dhawan and skipper Virat Kohli (29) then forged a 58-run second wicket partnership before in-form Kohli was dismissed by Colin de Grandhomme in the 14th over. Kohli slammed three fours and one six in his 29 ball innings.

New Zealand rode on brilliant knocks from Tom Latham and Ross Taylor to a comprehensive six-wicket victory over India in the first One-Day International (ODI) at the Wankhede Stadium here on Sunday. The duo contributed a 200-run stand for the fourth wicket as the visitors overtook India's total of 280/8 with six balls to spare. This is the highest successful run-chase at the Wankhede. New Zealand have taken a 1-0 lead in the three-match ODI series. Latham, who remained unbeaten on 103, smashed the opposition bowlers all over the park to notch up eight boundaries and two sixes in his 102-ball innings. Taylor (95) used his experience from the other end to keep the scoreboard ticking, punishing the loose deliveries.
