Ravichandran Ashwin clinched a five-wicket haul as India bowled out Sri Lanka for 183 runs in the first innings to take a massive lead of 439 runs at lunch on the third day of the second cricket Test here on Saturday. With Indian captain Virat Kohli deciding to enforce the follow on, the Lankans face an uphill battle in their bid to stave off defeat. Ashwin ended up with figures of 5/69 in 16.4 overs. Fast bowler Mohammed Shami bowled superbly for figures of 2/13 while left-arm spinner Ravindra Jadeja returned 2/84. Fast bowler Umesh Yadav also bagged a wicket.

Indian women's cricket team skipper Mithali Raj on Wednesday surpassed former England captain Charlotte Edwards to become the highest run-scorer in the One-Day Internationals (ODI) at the Bristol County Ground here. Mithali achieved the feat during Wednesday's group stage match of the Women's World Cup against Australia here. She scored 69 runs from 114 balls in the match. Her innings was laced with four boundaries and one hit into the stands.

Riding on Evin Lewis' unbeaten century, West Indies defeated India by nine wickets in the one-off Twenty20 International match at the Sabina Park here on Sunday. Lewis slammed 125 runs in just 62 balls to guide his team to a comfortable victory over the visitors. His innings was laced with six boundaries and 12 sixes. Chasing a mammoth 191, West Indies got off to a perfect start as openers Lewis and Chris Gayle (18) forged 82-run partnership in the 8.2 overs before Gayle was dismissed by left arm wrist spinner Kuldeep Yadav. Incoming batsman Marlon Samuels (36) then joined the in-form Lewis and the duo thrashed Indian bowlers all around the park to hand West Indies a victory with nine balls remaining. For India, Kuldeep was the lone wicket taker.

Riding on skipper Virat Kohli's unbeaten century, India defeated West Indies by eight wickets in the fifth and final One-Day International (ODI) at the Sabina Park Stadium here. Kohli (111 not out) and middle-order batsman Dinesh Karthik (50 not out) helped India on Thursday to outplay the hosts and clinched the five match ODI series 3-1. Chasing 206, India started on a poor note as opener Shikhar Dhawan (4) was sent back to the pavilion in the first over by pacer Alzarri Joseph. Incoming batsman Kohli and opener Ajinkya Rahane (39) then added 79 runs for the second wicket to stabilise the Indian innings. But, just when things seemed to be in control, Rahane was adjudged leg before wicket off Devendra Bishoo in the 19th over.

5th ODI: Virat Kohli stars as India beat West Indies by eight wickets

Put in to bat, India were 199/3 in 39.2 overs before rain played the spoilsport. After the continuous rain, the match officials gave West Indies a revised target of 194 in 26 overs through Duckworth-lewis method but after a long wait, umpires decided to call-off the match due to heavy downpour and wet outfield.
