Jailor salutes Muzaffarnagar accused BJP MLAs in UP

Orai, Sep 22 (ANI): In yet another incident of police administration's bend towards politicians and politician's pressure on the police administration, UP police saluted arrested BJP MLAs Sangeet Som and Suresh Rana while they were brought to a jail in Orai city of UP. The accused MLAs are allegedly responsible for inciting the people of the sate and for starting of the communal clashes in Muzaffarnagar district which claimed almost 40 lives. Som is accused of uploading a fake video that played a role in provoking communal tension in Muzaffarnagar and making inflammatory speeches. Thousands take to the streets in Bangalore to run in Wipro marathon

Bangalore, Sept 22 (ANI): A large number of running enthusiasts took the streets in Bangalore on Sunday to participate in the 'spirit of Wipro' marathon. The eight edition of the marathon witnessed thousands of participants giving everything to cross the finish line, with the Chairman of Indian software services exporter, Wipro, Azim Premji watching. Specially abled children break shell at sports meet in Shimla

Shimla, Sept 22 (ANI): Over a hundred specially-abled children broke the shell at a sports meet, as they participated in various games in Shimla, bridging the gap between them and the mainstream society. In two-day, 14th edition of FODA (Festival of Differently Abled) festival organized by Bishop Cotton School (BCS), witnessed as many 150 children with different disabilities from 15 different special institutions of the state. Sports activities were organized for the specially abled children on the second day of the FODA.Children participated in four different categories of hearing impaired, visually impaired, physically disabled and mentally challenged indoor and other games. Suicide attack at Pakistan church kills 40

Peshawar, Sept 22 (ANI): A pair of suicide bombers blew themselves up outside a church on Sunday in the Pakistani city of Peshawar, killing 40 people after mass. Police said that the death toll included at least four children, two policemen and six women and was likely to rise. Seventy others were wounded in the attack which occurred in a densely populated area near a market. A bomb disposal security source said there were two explosions carried out by a pair of attackers. More than 600 parishioners were inside the church for the service. Some residents took to the streets immediately after the attack to protest against the violence. Sep 22, 2013

People in Bangladesh celebrate SC's judgment to award Quader Mollah to death

New Delhi, Sep 22 (ANI): In Bangladesh people came out into the streets to celebrate a Supreme Court judgment that awarded death sentence to Abdul Quader Mollah for the beheading of a poet and raping a pre teen and shooting 344 people during the Liberation War of 1971 and another mass killing. Mollah was awarded life imprisonment in February this year, a verdict which sparked of protests on the streets of Bangladesh. Many were shocked that after all these years of waiting, when at last a trial was held and the person was found guilty of such heinous crimes, he was not given the ultimate punishment which already exists in the statute.
