David Bowie fans began to lay floral tributes in London on 11 January, just hours after news broke confirming the singers death. Bowie died on 10 January, aged 69, after an 18-month battle with cancer. Fans and media started arriving at 23 Heddon Street in Londons West End, where a plaque commemorates the spot where Bowie posed for the cover of his iconic album The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and The Spiders From Mars.
