Case registered against Jagmohan Dalmiya for dishonouring national flag

Kolkata, Aug 29 (ANI): A case has been registered against the President of Cricket Association of Bengal, Jagmohan Dalmiya, for dishonouring the national flag on Independence Day celebrations. The petitioner said that he had filed a petition and an FIR has been lodged in Maidan Police Station of Kolkata against Dalmiya. LG Najeeb Jung likely to invite single largest party to choose a CM and end Delhi's deadlock, politi

New Delhi, Aug 29 (ANI): According to reports Lieutenant Governor (LG) is likely to write to President Pranab Mukherjee discussing alternatives on government formation in Delhi. Jung's recommendation will go through the home ministry to the Union Cabinet, which will then advise the President. The President can accept or reject that advice. If he accepts it, the single largest party will be asked to name its leader who will then be invited to take over as chief minister. Meanwhile, BJP leader Shahnawaz Hussain said his party will react to the ongoing speculation about government formation in Delhi only after Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung takes a final call on the issue. Pandemonium in Kashmir assembly over multi-million-land scam

Srinagar, Aug 29 (ANI): State assembly of Jammu and Kashmir witnessed mayhem on Friday after a leader of ruling National Conference (NC) party stormed into the well of the House accusing opposition leaders of multi-million land scam. NC legislator Doctor Veeri alleged that patron of regional Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and deputy speaker of legislative assembly, Muhammad Sartaj Madni, were party to a multi-crore land scam in south Kashmir. Chief Secretary M Iqbal Khandey was directed to ascertain the facts over the allegations of a legislator that some opposition party members were encroaching upon government land. The directions to Khandey came from Legislative Council Chairman Amrit Malhotra after the NC members raised the issue. New Delhi, Aug 29 (ANI): As 25 Indian nationals in Kuwait have been arrested on murder charges on Friday, Ministry of External Affairs Spokesperson Syed Akbaruddin assured that all nationals are out of danger and that India's Mission has taken up the issue and will soon provide necessary assistance. Akbaruddin said that there was a brawl with nationals of some other countries and that some Indians were arrested in the same. He said that our mission has visited all hospitals to check the Indian nationals and to ensure adequate food provisions for them. The MEA also appealed the Indian to abide by the laws of Kuwait as India neds to maintain that. Akbaruddin also assured that Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj is giving directions in the case.
