Theatre festival concludes with fanfare in Bhubaneshwar

Bhubaneswar, Nov 7 (ANI): Theatre artists from across the country converged in Odisha to take part in a five-day national theatre festival. The festival, Purva Ranga, or 'Colours of the East', which is concluding today, attracted many spectators to Bhubaneswar city. President of Odisha Natya Sangh, Dhira Mallik, said that they had organised this festival with an aim to portray artists on national level. The festival was organised by Odisha Sangeet Natak Academy under the aegis of state tourism and culture department in collaboration with Eastern Zonal Cultural Centre, Kolkata. Children to get 'Clean India' message through film festival

New Delhi, Nov 7 (ANI): Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar, on Friday informed that the government would be organising a three-day National Children Film Festival (NCFF) in New Delhi. Addressing a news briefing, Javadekar said that the government is keen on promoting films for children by facilitating expansion of its reach. Javadekar said that the children's film festival culture was needed to be taken to other cities and states. He said the government would lend support to organising such film festivals. The film festival in the national capital will be held on the theme, 'Swachhta', or cleanliness. Plane hits stray buffalo during take off in Surat

Surat / New Delhi, Nov 7 (ANI): A SpiceJet plane crashed into a stray buffalo during take-off from Surat although no passengers or crew were hurt. The airline was forced to ground the Boeing 737 which suffered "substantial damages", plane's operator said. SpiceJet said the buffalo, which was killed in the accident on Thursday evening, was "essentially invisible" against a dark background. Passengers on the Delhi-bound aircraft were transferred on to another plane, SpiceJet said. Air Vice-Marshal (Retired), Indian Air Force, Kapil Kak, said a thorough inquiry should be launched and infrastructure of all airports across the country should be reviewed. New Delhi, Nov 07 (ANI) : Mobile messaging service WhatsApp has come up with a new "double blue tick" feature that allows users to know when their texts have been delivered and read.The blue tick appears as soon as the person at the receiving end has read the message.One grey tick means a message has been successfully sent, two grey ticks show it has been delivered and a blue tick means the message has been read. The app now also shows the exact time a text was sent. Users need to press and hold down on a particular post to know the accurate time the message was sent to them.The changes will affect all versions of the app used on the Apple iPhone's iOS, the Android operating system, as well as Windows phones, Nokias and Blackberrys.
